[NSW] Hoyts Saffron Powder (Imitation) 15g $0.70 @ Woolworths, North Sydney

71

Saw this then picked one up even though I have no idea how to use. Do I just spray it on whatever food I eat? Any clue? Thanks.

Not sure if its store specific.

Why not just use paprika then?

      • Because Paprika is red??

      • Tumeric

    • lol now I sit down and read the words on the back it does say "saffron powder imitation". What a joke.

      • On the back?

It says it on the front and on the back

What do you want, a sign?

  • This is probably not even worth 7 cents

    I can't watch this.

Check out the price difference between imitiation and real saffron.

    47 cents per 10g compared to $1100 per 10g!

    • Slight retail markup (the strands in the photo are grown in Tas.) you can buy saffron for between $1100 and $7000 per kilo depending on quality. It is actually not that hard to grow it yourself but you only get 3 stigmas per flower and 1 flower per plant

    Try it in a risotto.

You literally wrote "imitation" in the post title and now you're asking if it's real? I'm a bit confused haha.

      • lol that "imitation" must be added by OZBargain Admin as I didn't write that word when I posted it.
Didn't even notice this change until seeing your comment lol.
        What a waste of 70c…

You wont get any saffron flavour. Colour only. Its a waste.
