Got a 64gb SD card from these guys earlier this year, took just over a month to arrive. Did a speed test on the card too, pretty sure it's real.

The fakes are getting very good these days. I do not know if this is fake, but cheap SD cards often are.

Anyway, here's a handy guide to identifying a fake:

Perhaps Samsung have entered the lucrative fakes market too? :D

That article leaves out the most definitive way to detect a fake: by reading the manufacturer id directly from the card. Manufacturer id can't be changed by counterfeiters.

Here's an article describing what manufacturer id is:
        https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/sd-memory-card-faq/reading…

That article shows you how to read the manufacturer id under Linux. I believe there are Android "Sd tools" utilities that can do the same, and almost certainly there are Windows utilities too.

Edit: I just did a search on Google Play, the app "SD Insight" by HumanLogic will read the manufacturer id and decode it for you:
        https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic…

        • **COMPATIBILITY NOTICE: It has come to our attention that SD Insight is not compatible with some Android 7.0+ handsets.

Not supported on s9 + Oreo

          • @iamtapu: Since Android is somewhat similar to Linux, it may be possible to get the information from the command line. Plenty of Android command-line apps available.

Anyone with Android programming experience able to chime in?

        • I'm not seeing why counterfeit manufacturers cannot use legitimate information that matches a genuine card. If they can then it's not a way to identify counterfeits.

          and decode it for you

Oh wait is it actually encrypted?

          • @Diji1: I believe it's probably designed to stop cheap, no-name cards being purchased and labeled as Samsung/SanDisk. If you've got the facilities to manufacture your own cards and embed your own information…well, that's next level counterfeiting.

          • @Diji1: It costs well over a billion dollars to set up a chip manufacturing plant, to make the chips that go into sd cards. If you use someone else's manufacturer id in your sd cards, say Sandisk's, you'll be sued out of existence. No chip manufacturer would try that, too risky.

Counterfeiters take an existing card, and paint it like another brand of card, and/or different capacity of card. But they can't change the manufacturer id that the card reports, it's not stored in the programmable part of the sd card, it's part of the design of the card.

Oh wait is it actually encrypted?

Not encrypted, but it's a number. Each manufacturer is assigned a number by the sd card association.

Beware this seller, you may not receive your item forever.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/397946

    • I had my last order in about a week, so mileage may vary on that one.

    • -1

Agree had to cancel and refund for Xiaomi wireless charger. I would avoid.

      • -1

I requested to cancel order now.. sigh

        • -1

          They've completed my refund.

      • Why are these warnings getting downvoted?

    • @Freeman exactly my reason why I wouldn't shop from there again.
I ended up using paypal refund method and still to this day I have not received that item that was purchased back in Aug.

  • +3

Dressily is not worried about selling copyright/knock off items, so I'd definitely say 'buyer beware' on this one - it may be a knock-off/clone.

  • +3

still waiting for my battery charger i bought from them back on 20 august … avoid this company!

  • +1

I'm pretty sure these would be fake, its so hard now days, the speeds almost the same.. i bought some ages ago and they start to lose their color and turn plastic black.. or thats samsung ..btw speed tests dont tell you if tis real haha

    • It's not "hard" - just buy from an official Samsung reseller!

    • +2

If speed is pretty similar what's the difference? Reliability of the card to not lose your data?

      • +1

Storage size is a common issue where cards are duped to look like they're 128GB but in fact are 8 or 16GB ones that constantly right over themselves and cause corrupt files. Very common in cheap USB sticks.

  • -5

    Fake!

    • +1

      Based on what grounds?

  • -4

    Fake junk

  • makes you wonder when the price difference is massive compared to legit ones

  • Now you guys regret me buying this…

  • +5

Why would u buy anything from a dodgy place with an item u need to save data with….
I thought the idea was to save things u needed and not get lost otherwise what's the point of buying
1- dressailly is known for failed deliveries
    2- know for fakes/faulty equipment

  • +2

I got this for $31.95 from eBay delivered 3 months ago. Not the cheapest, and I got AU stock. It has been cheaper too from ozbargainhunter2012

    • +1

yes, i got from ozbargainhunter2012 for around $31ish and I am pretty sure It was not fake as well.

  • +1

Why is everyone upvoting presumably fake cards?

    • +6

      Because herd mentality of OzB

    • -1

If it's presumably fake, where's the moderation?

      • +2

I think the mods will only move when somebody says they received a fake card from DressLily. Until that happens, there is no hard evidence.

    • You can't down vote on OzBargain anymore .. you will get rekt .. its like telling christians that their god is fake or Russia to release Dagestan.

      • Is that where the Dags live?

      • You can down vote, if you were the person receiving bad service or fake parts or whatever.

But I do agree with you that people will often downvote your comment, usually without giving a reason, even when your neg is completely valid.

  • How many people who claim these are fake actually bought the same sd cards earlier this year and are just salty this bargain is cheaper?

    • +3

Research this seller and you will get your answers

  • Officeworks price beat?

  • Bought two of those 10L xiaomi bags on 26th of September. Still "processing" and hasn't shipped two weeks later.

  • +9

"Looks like the cheapest price ever on this micro SD card."

Definitely not true, been cheaper before, and for AUS stock too.

    Here's a few links:

    First
    Second
    Third
    Fourth

And that's all from just the second page for Samsung EVO cards, search the site for "Samsung EVO 128GB option:titleonly" and I'm sure you'll find a lot more.

    • But clearly they're fakes as well due to price. :P

    • +1

search function could be improved, sorting by price/votes would be good options.

  • +1

H2TESTW will tell if it is a fake.

  • +1

definitely not "cheapest ever"! I bought one from ozbargainhunter eBay for ~$30

  • +2

I'm assuming pc byte ones are geniune compare to this one which is uncertain
