  • What season is it in HK during period May-Sep 2019?

It's summer, it's humid and hot af. As soon as you step out of the hotel, you're working a sweat. It's also typhoon season during those times. This is pretty similar for all the neighbouring countries as well.

IMO, the best time to go would be late November to March. But hey, a bargain is a bargain!

      • Ouch, no thanks.

      • I went to HK for a week at the end of September this year and the weather was quite good - the typhoons and unbearable humidity had passed but maybe I was lucky.

I also went in late April of this year and the weather was nice and fairly cool!

    • During May it's already quite warm. By Sept it's hot and dirty humid.

      • When is winter season??

        • There's no real winter in HKG, it's similar to the BNE winter but it starts cooling down around Nov and Jan is probably the coldest month. I lived in HKG a few years back and it was short sleeves for me all year round.

    • Best time is mid-October, that is, right now!

I have been in Hong Kong at various times of the years and having been there in July I swore to myself never to go again at that time of the year. Leave hotel, return 1 hour later with wearing a wet T Shirt (sweat), put on fresh T Shirt and head out again. Repeat process. I became expert at travelling from point to point by the air conditioned connected building malls.

    • yeah going there in summer is a definite no no, i practically lived on the MTR to escape the heat lol

  • I'm sure this has been asked before but how come it's so much more to fly from SYD? Airport fees?

  • great price for honkers
