Ozito Power X Change 18V Brushless Lawn Mower Kit $249 @ Bunnings

63

Promo price to match aldi’s battery powered mower and batteries/charger?

As mentioned in my comment:

Aldi has slightly better specs and great returns if something goes wrong but since it’s a seasonal product there’s no replacement, just a refund.

However, if something goes wrong with the ozito u can always whip down to bunnings for a replacement.

Hmmmmm

I’m in the same situation deciding.

Aldi one if you can get it as it's brushless and dual 18v

      • Bunnings one is brushless too. See pic

        • Yep but only 18v .. if you miss two weeks of mowing and have thickish grass good luck.

          • @pw2002au: Aldi one definitely better. Longer cutting width as well.
And this is a standard Bunnings price - no discount.

@perthhunter: The OP has linked to the wrong unit. There are two at Bunnings for same price. Posting by pw2002au below is the correct listing to compare with Aldi.

This kit includes two 18V 2.0Ah Lithium Ion batteries providing cordless convenience, while two chargers provide the advantage of simultaneous charging. You always know when the batteries are ready to use with the LED charge indicator.

              Delivers 36V of power
              330mm cutting width
              5 Position height adjustment
              30 Litre grass catcher
              2 x 18V 2.0Ah batteries and 2 x 18V fast chargers

So while not completely comparable they are more similar. Obviously there will be personal preference choices

12 inch cutting width and 18V means it's only useful for tiny gardens.

  • Do they have dual 18v. How long can a 3ah last please?

This isn't comparable to Aldi's. You are better off looking for this one:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-2-x-18v-cor…

I bought this the other day to replace my Bosch and it's pretty good. You might want to invest in some 4amp batteries though.

The piddly little grass catcher peeves me no end though.

    • Same price for different products?! How does that work?

      • The one in this post has a proper full plastic grass catcher the one I linked to is a dinky little mesh one.

The cutting power of 36v to 18v though was far more important.

Also the one i linked to isn't brushless but I doubt if it will end to the 5 year warranty anyway.

        • Ah ok, that puts in in perspective. What are the inplications of brushless and the power difference. Omg too many variables

@Bellpop: Haha .. I know right. If you can get the aldi one, grab it unless you have lots of other ozito products. I needed mine for a house inspection otherwise would have waited.

How long did the bosch one last?

Better off buying a petrol mower. Lasts 20 years

"Promo price to match aldi’s battery powered mower and batteries/charger?"

The price was always $249 for this kit. Where is the discount??

  • They have a new 4 battery mower that I saw a few days ago that actually looks reasonable (ie like a mower not a toy)

my ozito mower is trash. the handles bent after just a few uses. would not recommend

Agree - it has been this price for some time. So not really a deal. Have been checking to see if Bunnings will price match on this and their $349 skin brushless and they haven’t. Disappointed. Also the aldi’s version was very popular, it was sold out in two stores in Vic I visited this morning by 10:30am.

        3 left at Chadstone

        • There was 5 about 30 mins before your post. I didn't see any batteries though, not that I looked hard.

        • Top bloke yogo! Give them a visit late afternoon and they had two left! Bargain! Thanks mate!

  • For those interested, there's one on ebay for the Ozito 2x 18v version (better than the one posted for 199 instead of 249) in VIC, no returns. I can't post a link though but it is by craftycrutch and the seller as 99.6% feedback
Unfortunately I'm in WA and can't pickup :(

    Mod: Link here

    • Ah cool. Thanks for the heads up. Wish there was one in Newcastle

  • I bought one today. I will need to take it back tomorrow as the whole mower is bent, the front left wheel is in the air. Not stable on the concrete floor you push it and it wobbles. Cant see the issue, other than the plastic is bent.

    Anybody had this problem??

The Ozito 1x18v looked like a kid`s toy. I think I keep my Ozito corded mower, it is great and stable, just hard to deal with 10m of cables.

    • I have the $149 Ozito corded one. The cord is not a big deal. You get the knack of how to mow in a direction that avoids it, or just lift the cut high enough that you can just run over the cord without hitting it (wouldn't try do ing that regularly though). Performance wise it's fine - does foot long grass.

  • The reason I have issue with the cord is that my lawn is too small.

It sounds strange but the corded ones are more suitable for middle sized lawns where you can walk straight more than 5-7 steps. Basically I go forward 5steps and then backward all the time. Cannot go in circles. I have to hold the cord in one hand so I can pull it back when I walk backwards. so I can only grab the mower with one hand. I spend more time on dealing with the cord then actually mowing. The positioning of the cord is another issue. The edges and the post box prevent me to use a better system so I basically dont pull the cord after myself as I should but going toward the cord If you know what i mean.

I still think a petrol one would be overkill for 25m2 lawn. I have around two 5mx2m lawn sections.

I am going to try the Ryobi one next time.

  • Brought the Aldi one on Sat. Spec is certainly more powerful than Ozito's single 18V model, but less than their steel deck 36 V model.

Regardless, it was pretty damn good. I haven't mowed my yards for…months (you hear it right, though it hasn't grown much during the cooler season). Had to set the mower to the highest height setting, go through the front yard once and repeat again with the lowest setting. No stalling. Back yard wasn't as bad, but still went through it twice. Had 2 x 4.0 Ah batteries and were just enough to do both yards twice over.

I was previously going for Ozito's 2x18V steel deck version, but it's really too heavy and now I realise I don't really need that much power.

So yep, Aldi's model all the way even if you have a small yard.
