Agreed. I think the ipad mini will soon be extinct. I'm tempted, but the tech is too old for me to want to spend the $$$ on today.
Yeah; anything was an improvement over my OG iPad mini for me so I used the Amex December 2018 Harvey Norman offer to buy my iPad mini 4 with 4G in case they axed it

Potentially dumb question…is this a throwaway comment to say that Apple is always updating or is there actually plans to release an updated iPad that I've missed?
Apple have scheduled a media event on the 30th, and new iPad models are a near certainty.
@dm01: Most likely only updated iPad Pro models… As they already realeased the base model iPad for 2018..
For mine .. better off spending basically the same money on a 2018 iPad that has pencil support and vastly superior chipset..

iPad Mini, Apple's disowned little child.
Had an iPad mini 4 since launch, was suppose to be replaced by iPad Pro 9.7 2 years ago but end up keeping both. Still find this the best size to carry around for reading ebooks anywhere. My friend call it my poopad, u know whats I mean… Unfortunately after 4 years its starting to age, the performance is getting slow, screen color not as good as newer ipads, and so disappointed that apple yet to release another mini iPads since.
Price at Officeworks is $449 so no price beat
