  What's difference in vegan and non vegan chocolates?

    I'm guessing the milk used to create chocolate is not derived from an animal. Some sort of plant based or chemical substitute?

    From Wikipedia: Much of the chocolate consumed today is in the form of sweet chocolate, a combination of cocoa solids, cocoa butter or added vegetable oils, and sugar. Milk chocolate is sweet chocolate that additionally contains milk powder or condensed milk.

    So chocolate is vegan already, but milk chocolate is not.

      yes, real plain chocolate - dark chocolate - is vegan and made with cocoa solids, without milk

      milk chocolate has added milk

      white chocolate has cocoa butter but no cocoa solids, and as such is not considered real chocolate

  gluten sensitivity can affect those who are not coeliac nor have the genes - such as people with fructose malabsorption or irritable bowel syndrome

  In the Peters study over half the sample
  were HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8 positive so you can hardly say they did not have the genes.

    yes, though the point which I was trying to make is that, contrary to comments from some people, one doesn't need to be coeliac nor have the genes to be gluten-sensitive :)
