  • Hi Rep,

How's the ANC like on this when compared to the BH047 and BH-22?

Thinking of getting but I got a pair of ANC headphones from another brand on Amazon before and was quite disappointed (the ANC was worse than a pair of $25 Kmart ANC headphones).

    • haha ive got those $25 kmart ones (thought i would give it a shot), their actually not bad, in that, if you want a cheap, dont care if they get broken, noise cancelling headphones type of way. having said that, i bought the BH047 last time and have compared them directly to the kmart model, they are much better.

  • +2

I know these aren't in the same league as the Sony, but I was reluctant to spent $350 for my first pair of NC headphones. So I will dip my toes in the water with this TT ones pair. Thanks Ops! Just purchased!

  • Can anybody show me what devices these show up as in Windows 10?

I'm guessing it has this problem:
    https://superuser.com/questions/1104304/is-it-possible-to-us…
    https://superuser.com/questions/930251/possible-to-use-bluet…

    But figured I'd just check.

  • Thinking to get the TaoTronics TT-EP002 ANC Wired Earphonesfor the wife, does it work for an iphone?

  • I don't think I'll ever buy a cheap bluetooth headphone again, bought one before last me less than a year. Couldn't be bother to send it back for warranty because it only cost me 50 bucks.

Not sure how this headphones works but it definite cheap.

      • +1

Keen for future TT NC headphone future deals! Count me in please :)

  • +2

    Damn… sold out…. just tried… :(

  • Anyone know if you can use the Tt-bh040 microphone through a wired connection not Bluetooth? Would be useful if I could do that for PC gaming

    • +2

Hey Mate. I did ask their Rep for clarification about this. When you insert the cord it turns the power to the headphones off to save on battery use, so the mic won't work.

But ANC will still work if turned on.

      • I mean if they're turned on can you connect the mic to your PC by 3.5mm or is it Bluetooth only?

        • +1

You can use the mic with Bluetooth.

  • I was one of the first people to buy these (as you had to update the code), but they still haven't shipped. What is the normal shipping time? Surely it shouldn't take 2 days just to send them.

    • +1

There shouldn't be any delay, the items are fulfilled by Amazon and they are normally very good with Delivery times.

I wouldn't worry, they will be with you soon :)

      • +1

Okay, I'll wait. Seeing my item not even shipped yet is just a bit unnerving, especially since they're sold out. Thanks.

        • I can understand that :)

They were so confident that they would sell out at this price that they already have more stock on the way.

    • +1

Received the shipping notification yesterday afternoon and they were delivered today. Maybe contact Amazon to follow-up.

  • +3

    Thanks xev.

I've never had any headphones before, as I've only generally used earphones. Here is a quick review anyway.

    • Sound: pretty good I guess? Nothing much to compare it too but everything sounds fine.
    • Noise cancelling: good so far. Blocked out lawnmowers and some birds, but it hasnt been put to my true test: the crows. I can still hear some of a leaf blower but it is muted quite a lot.
    • Build quality: very good
    • Comfort: very comfy fits snugly
    • Price: very good

    Would I recommend? Yes

    • +3

Well done. That is useful for other Members when stock is replenished..

    • +2

Mine arrived today and have been testing them out in open plan work environment.

I agree the sound is pretty good.

The NC is okish I guess. It mutes the AC but I can hear traces of someone else having a conversation about 10 metres away from me as well as myself typing on the keyboard as I write this.

But when it comes to noise cancelling, I dont really have much to compare it too. Just heard someone cough from the other side of the office.

Build quality is pretty good as well as the comfort.

Price is pretty good as well.

I think its a fair price for what you get. I must admit that if I had bought a Bose pair and their noise cancelling was akin to these headphones, I wouldnt be all that happy.

  • +1

    Got mine today.

Weaker ANC compared to Bose QC25 (ofc can't compare apple to orange, at least it aint a lemon).

Solid build & a tad heavy. Nice comfy ear paddings (an hour usage so far), I wonder if the leather pads are replaceable, likewise with battery. Big buttons are pluses.

Bass is a tad strong in ANC mode, but never breaks off, I say it handle well at near max volume. Perfect for jazz, not so for heavy metal.

The carry case, however, too large to carry around. Good to use it as a storage for random stuff tho.

    Equipment used:
    - Astell & Kern AK JR
    - Blitzwolf BT TX/RX BW-BR4
    - PS4

Recommended to anyone who hates Bose's strong ANC vacuum effect, as TT-BH040's ANC is weaker. Perfect for home use.

PS: You can't turn on BT mode if stereo jack is plugged in. Just incase if you start panicking. :P

    OP, 2 things:
    - I cannot find pdf manual for TT-BH040 on their US site. Maybe you can request one for us please? Last resort, I can scan it myself.
    - I'm trying to register for 18 months extended warranty. Entered my Amazon order # but wont let me click the red button, in both FF & Chrome. Any idea?

Thanks very much for your superb deals.

    • +1

Hey Mate, I am glad that you are enjoying your new headphones.

I have forwarded your questions through to the rep and will let you know once they get back to me :)

  • +2

Also received mine today shipped express on Friday so that was nice, and pretty much agree with everyone else - they're great for the price!

xev any chance of another deal on the TT-BH07? Wouldn't mind some new gym earbuds and if their other products are as good as these then i'm sold.

    • +2

Send xev a PM with a title including TT-BH07 and he will notify you accordingly.

    • +2

Hi Mate, I am very pleased that you are enjoying your BH040s as much as I enjoy mine :)

As PJC suggested, send me a private message and I will let you know!

  • Question for those that have received their headphones.. if you tap/adjust the right headphone whilst audio is playing, does the audio cut out briefly? I received mine today and whilst testing I noticed that the sound cut out whenever I adjusted their position on my ears. The left seems fine.

Just want to work out if it's normal or an issue

    • I have tried with mine and don't have that issue.

Send me a private message with your email and order number and I will ask their support team to get in contact with you.

      • PM sent. Thanks xev

        • My pleasure :)

        • +2

Just an added note for anyone reading this now or in future, these headphones really exceeded my expectations. The issue I am having is really minor and not something that effects standard use. To put it in context, if this was a common trait of these headphones I'd still buy them.

  • +1

Just received mine last night. Excellent value, cuts general background noise very well although doesn't do the best with background voice. Using with Skype for voice calls and apparently very clear at the other end.

    • +1

Yeah I agree with that. I took a phone call with them and the person commented that I sounded quite clear.

  • +2

Recieved my TT-BH040 last night, very happy for the price:

Good build quality and very comfortable.
Sound is pretty good to my untrained ears. ANC works alright, but nothing on QC35's my brother has.
Carry case is a bit large as mentioned previously.

    Oversall 8.5/10

  • +1

Received my TT-BH040 today, tested out at work, i am extremely happy with it especially for the price and the NC. Coworker was also impressed and will probably buy one as well :D

  • So trying to add a review on Amazon and I get this…

Sorry, we are unable to accept reviews for this product. This product has limitations on submitting reviews. There can be a number of reasons for this, including unusual reviewing activity.

    Anyone experienced the same before?

    • +1

I will ask the Rep about it. It may be that a lot of members are trying to leave reviews as they sold a lot last week.

Amazon may detect a higher amount of reviews than normal and think it is suspicious.

Maybe try again in a few days?

      • Cheers, let me know if you hear back from them.

  • Anybody knows what's the difference between the TT-BH027 and the TT-BH025 models? Thanks!

  • I am returning mine to Amazon, the headset gives me headache and makes me dizzy.

    Gonna buy Bose or Sony…

    .

    • You gonna return those too.

      • I tried the Sony XM3 for ~10 minutes at the shop and did not get headache or got dizzy. I am guessing their ANC is better?

        .

        • Perhaps. But if you are uncomfortable with vacuum effect, then other brands may likely would be the same. Maybe coz you been using it for a longer period of time? I got Bose QC25 & I find this TT-BH040's ANC is much weaker.

Then again if you said Sony is suitable for you, go for it.

  • Bit of a late post but if anyone wants some feedback on the BH040 headsets I've had a chance to put the one I received to some use.

Very good music quality and quite good noise canceling for the price, filters out steady noise well but not so good with background conversation.

However the claims about good quality phone calls are a bit off, at least from a PC. The headphone drops to low quality mono as soon as you try to use the mic. Everything pointed to Windows not supporting aptx however when using an Avantree Leaf with full aptx and aptx LL support you still have to drop the headphone into low quality call mode. Avantree's response is that the headphones don't support faststream.
However when paried with the samsung phone the call audio seems fine.

So basicaly a good headset for music and for pairing with a mobile.
Good noise canceling on a plane.
Not quite so good noise canceling in an office environment.
Not so good if you want to use it with skype.
very poor quality if you want to use it as a gaming headset, at least with recent versions of windows anyway.
Microphone is super sensitive and picks up the entire room so not so good for calls in an office environment.

Overall if you want music and have a lot of steady background noise then well worth the money, but if you want to use it for voice conversation, calls or gaming then I wouldn't recomend.
