671

Dumplings. Everyone loves dumplings. That's because dumplings are good.

When dumplings are half price, you can love them twice as much.

I love dumplings so much I wrote a poem about dumplings:
Dumplings.
They are pretty great.
I like to eat them.
I don't really eat vegetable dumplings even though they are still ok.
Dumplings.

Available in the following:

Note that as pointed out by zxtc below, the Vegetable Gyoza contains fish.

These are the best dumplings on the market IMO. My kids also love them which is a bonus

  • +ve for the post but -ve for the poem.

      1 - 1 = 0?

      • +4

yes but the vote is for the bargain of course.

        For those who care:
Chicken and Pork are 98 and 99% made from Australian products
        While
the vege and prawns are made in China.

      my apologies
the poem was bad, but this
      haiku is better

  • Crazy dragons are rare species.

    • I have one here in my home.

…one dumpling, two dumplings, three dumplings, four….
i eat a whole bag & then i eat some more (with soy & sriracha)
    …dumplings.

  • Are these better than the Fortuna twin phoenix frumplings from the last deal

  • How do these compare to KB's Prawn Gyoza? Can they even be compared?

    • Personally I prefer the KB Prawn Gyoza over these, but these chicken dumplings are excellent

  • I generally find, finding a local Asian grocer to get the generic packaged ones to be the best and cheapest option.

  • You don't have to eat the vegetable dumplings. Try the gyoza though.

So just read the ingredients for the vegi ones and it contains fish!

    • A really small amount of oyster sauce. But yeah.

Great pickup, nice attention to detail. I added this to the description above because it would be quite important for some people.

    • Yeah, I saw this as well, seems slightly silly to make what is seemingly a vegetable product that vegetarians won't eat.

That is actually a different variety (same brand though). The "Hong Kong" style in this deal is a bit different but anyway…

      https://www.mouthsofmums.com.au/rate-it/all-things-frozen/fr…

      • Hopefully this variant is better than the other one reviewed! lol they truly sounded awful!

      • Always carry Hong Kong style, which in reality they are not.

  • I quite enjoy these cheers bruh.

bought their pork dumplings about 1.5 year ago when they first came out, worst dumplings ever bought, most skins were broken, inside was tasteless. Later bought the Crazy Dragon Chicken Karaage, didnt taste like chicken at all, again had to dump in the bin. Maybe I shall give them another try.

    • I totally agree. I didn't buy any crazy dragon product since they first introduced to Woolies/Coles. I dumped more than half bag to the bin.

    • +2

Burnt twice and still willing to try again?

    • I bought a bag of the Crazy Dragon Karaage today from Coles ($10 on clearance). Outside looks nice, taste was pretty crap and can confirm, nothing like chicken. Doesn't even look like chicken inside. I'm so glad I resisted getting another bag.

    • I think Chicken Karaage is on clearance line in Coles, currently half priced to $10. I think it is OK, just wait till it drops below $7 by any chance.

  • How do these compare to the other brands? And do these come in a larger size? e.g. 1kg

  • +1

Compared to Mr Chen's, these are shit IMO. If you haven't had them yet and you want to try them, buy only one pack and judge for yourself. Better than being overstocked with a product you don't like. Sales like these come often anyway if you do end up liking them.

Mate, i tell you now, avoid this brand, amazingly awful taste.

  • Product range here: http://www.crazydragon.com.au/product-range/ Click on these for ingredients listing.

  • On a slightly related note, Aldi urban eats brand dumpling are quite good especially their pork & vegetable one. I am normally not a big fan of vegetables dumpling but even I admit Aldi ones are pretty good

    • +2

Never tried but someone mentioned that they are made by mr chen's. I quite enjoy mr Chen's so definitely will try the aldi ones

    • The Aldi ones are great! @36 for $7.95????
As long as you fry them in the wok 1st and simmer them in water. I know I shouldn't but I freeze them with Fried Rice and eat them for nch at work. ;-)

  • The best and worst dumplings on the market. Quite a feat.

  • +1

good price. however these are terrible, avoid. tasteless, dumpling wrappers broken. the karage chicken used to be quite good maybe a year ago and they have changed the recipe since. it now tastes like cardboard. :(

I feel Mr. Chen's branded Yum Cha products tastes very well.

I can warn everyone, this Dragon brand tastes very bad. I will not touch even there are free coupons.

  • What is the best way to cook them?

    I don't have a bamboo steamer.

Options are to either pan light fry, pan semi deep fry, fan forced / grill oven, microwave, stove pot boiling or use a pressure cooker or slow cooker.
