Don't show me these deals please… I just finished my build with this same M.2 stick yesterday.

Good fast storage for anyone needing an M.2 drive.

Could anyone give some guidance how to load current Windows 7 to the new SSD?

  • I am an eBayPlus member and PLUSME is not working for me either

Dont buy from this seller. This is one of PC Byte's pseudonyms on Ebay, will never again purchase from them.

I tried to purchase a Samsung 970 Pro around a month ago from one of their pseudonyms "flash_pro". They provided an Auspost tracking number that appeared stuck and simply did not update. They said Auspost had lost the package, I eventually got a refund after 2 weeks of waiting while they investigated with Auspost.

I then tried to purchase the same thing from another seller (tech_mall this time), turned out to be PC Byte again as the payment went to the same PayPal address as the flash_pro order. Exact same issue occurred, exact same excuse that Auspost had lost the package. Got another refund.

    Utter waste of my time.

Apparently they like to sell products on Ebay even if they dont have stock, and then make you wait until their stock arrives from their suppliers. Sometimes they cant get stock, so they just make you wait until you simply give up and request a refund. A number of people have reported the same issue.

This is terrible. Can you try identify the ABNs to see if they are the same?

      • +3

Yes. The PayPal address went to a company called Tech Century. A quick google of Tech Century and you see that its the company that trades as PC Byte. http://www.abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View/55618000847

I took a look at Product Reviews, a number of people had the exact same experience with stuck tracking numbers in NSW that dont seem to go anywhere.

Ozbargain is showing all these stores as PC Bytes under RELATED STORES so I guess they are operating under these many names ?
Tech Mall, Flash Pro, PCmeal & so on..

I'm not defending the seller, but the sorting facility at Chullora (NSW) is a black hole for missing parcels.

We have hundreds of parcels a year go there and never come out the other end.

At times it does take for Aus Post to "Investigate" but there is rarely an outcome.

      • +2

That is fair point as well. I guess its hard enough to deal with dodgy retailers when Auspost is already doing its best to undermine the postage system. Luckily I havent had too many problems. But I have seen some frustrating delays when packages route via Chullora.

        • +2

Mate it's a nightmare at times. The worst thing is that we can't provide a refund too the buyer until we have an outcome from Australia Post.

Also on the other end you get spanked from eBays service metrics for a delivery issue that is out of your control.

        • +2

Maybe next time verify with Australia Post directly when the package gets stuck in the system to see whether something was actually sent to you - before reaching out to the seller. I have had an instance where my package was delivered and signed for by a wrong person at a totally different suburb - and had to verify this over the phone with Australia Post. Saved the hassle of having to wait for the seller to follow up for me.

@knight321: I probably should have. I contacted the seller first about the delay as the Ebay listed ETA had come and gone and the tracking number had no details, and they said they would investigate with Auspost. I contacted Auspost a few days later and they couldnt talk to me as they already had a pending investigation with the seller. I asked Auspost what was the ETA on the investigation, and they said roughly 10 business days. I just laughed and hung up the phone.

            • +1

@FuRyZ: Yeah AusPost don't really have the best service…In my case instead of compensating me directly, they made me chase up the seller to explain the issue, have them send me a new parcel and they themselves need to get the money off AusPost. Like AusPost is in the wrong, shouldn't they make the process easier for me…I feel you man aha.

Looks like I'll soon be in a similar situation. I bought an m.2 card from them last week, ETA was yesterday. The provided tracking number comes up as pending on Fastway Couriers website. I contacted them and they said they will investigate with Fastway :(

      • Fastway is absolutely horrendous - just look at their terrible reviews: https://www.productreview.com.au/p/fastway.html.

When Amazon Australia first launched they used Fastway as their delivery courier. I ordered from them twice, both times they shipped with Fastway and both times I received nothing and ended up having to get a refund. My subsequent orders from Amazon AU have been sent via Aus Post, which is infinitely better than Fastway. I can only imagine the number of complaints they must have received for non delivery.

Just the other day I also had a bad experience with another of Tech Century's aliases, 'oztech' on the Amazon AU marketplace. Gee, I wonder why they feel the need to operate under so many different names…

Ordered a RTX 2080 from them, they took my money and even marked the package as shipped, only to be contacted the following day cancelling the order and blaming Amazon for 'linking to the incorrect item', all while simultaneously relisting the same card for $250 more. Guess they realised they weren't gouging the price enough?

Anyway, avoid this seller and any of their aliases - if you see Tech Century come up in Paypal, cancel!

      • +1

You could almost argue that this was a better experience haha. At least they did not make you wait 2 weeks while they "investigate" and then issue you the refund.

I do agree though, it sounds extremely dodgy when you have a company that operates under so many different names.

    • I bought a Micro SD card yesterday from PC Byte thinking they were reputable :(
Hopefully I will get it delivered.

      • I bought a graphics card from them, i got it in 3 days with no issues. Not discounting any of the bad experiences above, but they wouldn't still be a seller if they did these with every parcel.

        • True. It might be some items when they go out of stock.
My item has been posted. fingers crossed.
