Came across this deal for $1019 and have contacted the site and they said they have "Priority Package (AU$29.95) - Insurance is optional"

You can also take this and get office works to price match it as its australian website and they have started matching online i did this today and managed to get the phone for $968 they forgot to include the shipping and it does not display onsite unless they put into cart and checkout works in your favor

          I know the Taylors Lakes store had two coppers a few days ago. But they were one of the stores that refused the price match originally.
          The Store near highpoint shopping centre had one too.

    My tax return transferred into my account this morning. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t have went to try my luck at Blacktown OW, despite checking online late last night and it said no stock there or nearby.

    They had one left in stock, but they noticed the 1 year warranty on the Becextech site as opposed to their model with the 2 years. Bah!!

    They also said no to matching another OW receipt.

      I'd suggest everyone who wasn't able to get them to price match there own receipts contact officeworks head office or complain and if you want to go 1 step further contact fair trading for a misleading deceptive price match policy nowhere does it go into specifics about identical products and if you want to get technical grey imports and aus stock are still identical products in my opinion warranty is the "product" its something offered after the purchase

        It would be nice if someone can get some information from ACCC regarding identical product and price match policy. I agree with Ur opinion about being similar product as it is made by Samsung and they cannot say they are going to charge us more for warranty. Looked in the ACCC website and is nothing clearly defined for grey import or price match.

          Good to hear i posted your comment on main post i really think if people start threatening to make some noise about there price match policy and misleading / deceptive marketing of it they will either get rid of it / change it or they will sell the phone to you

          What exactly happened when you went to buy it would be great to hear the story haha

          Did you get it from store or 1300 online? The model on mymobile site is grey import with 1 year warranty, as far I know office (doesn't) works denies pricematch due to this very reason.

The guy came back after consulting his manager with this burb, 'All these websites are currently under investigation of the ACCC. And we will not Price match'. I was like you guys should be under investigation…. Aaah…

        DO NOT buy from becxetech, NSW department of fair trading had a warning for people not to buy from them and its affiliates which included two other stores if I remember correctly.

    Managed to get the last one from Officeworks Minchinbury for $944.30 after pricebeat. The manager tried to refuse at first however agreed when I showed him the receipts from fellow members.

    As with air fare deals, the people that complain to head office are the ones that set off the klaxon. Chill. If you win great, but don't be sour if you don't.

    I think Officeworks honoured the terms of their guarantee here plenty of times, so talk of complaining I think is very unfair. As mentioned, if people push these things too far, then we all lose in the long run - they restrict their guarantee. It's in the nature of Ozbargain that sometimes you win, sometimes you don't make the cut - there are never going to be enough in stock to keep the entire world happy. I think the warehouse stock thing was legit, they definitely ran out in order of colours rather than all at once - which suggests their warehouse system (in NSW at least) really didn't have them (I got one, and that was the feedback in store).

      Another thing i noticed that Note 9 sold by OW is infact dual sim model and therefore no different from the HK models sold by other websites. Whoever rejects the price match claim based on dual sim argument. Tell them to check the phone. Read below article -

    I tried to price match today in Perth WA but unfortunately mymobile.com.au is out of stock.

    OW told me that head office has blacklisted becextech.com.au and will not price match becextech.com.au

    Any other option ?

    I went to several stores in VIC, ended up finding a copper and paid $1053. Not the amazing prices paid by others, but they were happy to match becextech as long as they added the shipping as well.

    mymobile.com.au has stock now but OW manager refused to price match mymobile.com.au falsely claiming that mymobile.com.au was black listed in ACCC.

    Others reasons for not price matching were
    Not the same model number
    Not Australian Stock

    Treat of complaining to ACCC and Fair Trading did not work. So I want to complain but one what basis can I complain?

      Misleading and deceptive price matching policy nowhere does it state anything about model numbers / australian stock / warranty it says identical product plus they've already sold them for $968 with office works receipts there's pretty much no reason why they should decline you

    Awesome deal and great comments. Most stores are out of stock. Called up 1300 number and tried to price beat becextech but was refused. They told me becextech is banned. Even said that providing receipts won't work because they "won't make the same mistakes stores have made". Called them again to price beat T-dimension and they did. Got the last 512GB blue for $1258. Should be able to knock off another $250 with JBL Headphones and the galaxy skin. Yay

    For anyone still following this I had Officeworks give me a quote for $925.30 (using 5% price beat on $974 from https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/samnote9dual128gbblk-in…).

    Following day I went to pay however they wouldn't honour it as they got in contact with their head office who advised not to honour price matches from Becextech due to ACCC warnings, quoting the ACCC site (https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/catchdeal-techrific-an…)

    Determined to still get it at this price I used the quote Officeworks provided to have David Jones match it, JB and Harvey refused to match.

    Obviously with price matching its very dependent on the sales assistant at the time, worth a shot though. Thanks OP for post.

Apparently, they knew the subject of the discussion so looks like other Ozbargainers have already tried this before me. They said we can only price match what's available on the website :( So, No!

    Perth CBD officeworks is not offering pricematch for becextech website. She showed me an email from head office to stop pricematching becextech because they are passing off refurbed models as new and the website was flagged by ACCC as fraudulent.

    Think WA is out of stock of the note 9. O'Connor and Jandakot are showing 2 but are out of stock.

    They showed me on their computer they couldn't order online, but on my computer I could add to card so :(

    My local Officeworks declined the price match from Becextech. They even had a paper printed out which the girl behind the counter showed me saying to decline any price matches from Becextech on the grounds that the units they are selling are "refurbished". It was disappointing but I DID manage to get a price match from Catch of the Day. They are selling units online for $1069 (+ free shipping) so I ended up walking out with the Note 9 for $1009. Not the best price match but I guess still a bargain.

    Got told Bexetech was banned and anything from HK will be not allowed and websites will be potentially will be banned in future if they haven't already be banned (mymobile, wonda, tobydeals).

    Pretty much has to be exact model number, "N960" and .com.au site.
