  • is it worth getting the combo deal with the extra components?

The parts are all washable this time and you can set a virtual wall in-app. Might not be necessary

    • No, just get the basic one. Yes all the parts are all washable, and in-app virtual wall works very well!
I've been using this for more than 2 months now, and this robo vacuum is well to spent, very happy & never regret about it.
Definitely very recommended for busy people like me that don't have time to do vacuum & mop. ;)

      • Never seen this virtual wall setting - I have this very vac.

    • Looks like you can buy them separately cheaper anyway

  • Code not working for me unfortunately - "This code can't be applied to your order"

Working for me just now. Paying with paypal balance. Just ordered the vacuum, no other items in same cart.

had this issue, turns out my ebay had a country setting set to USA.
talk to an ebay customer support person and see if they can't fix it for you

      • Thanks for this - I managed to check out as a guest and it worked ok. Turns out my eBay country setting is the issue for me too. Much appreciated.

    • +1

Same here. not working for me.

      • Did you check your country settings?

        • Code not working.
          Country set in Aus.
It works up until I sign into PayPal.
          Anyone know the fix?

Sort of related topic - has anyone got around the issue of having the roborock working in the Mi app when it's set to China (so that all your other existing Xiaomi products also work)?

    • create second account set to a different country (e.g. Singapore) on a second device perhaps?
    • or is it possible to easily switch between two accounts (on a single device (iPhone))?
    • something else?
    • I use an app called parallel space. It essentially duplicates the mihome app so you can have one server set to Singapore and one for china.

      • Work on IOS do you know?

    • I had this issue and was driving me nuts.

I found the solution by downloading the modified Mihome app and everything will work on China server.

There was a post on the previous deal a month or so ago with the links etc. Before that I couldn't even detect the robot vacuum regardless which server I tried.

      • I'm guessing again that that is Android only?

        • Definitely android, may be try add the roborock to your account in china server with a spare android device then login to your account again on IOS see if it appear in there? There is also instruction to flash the firmware and turn it into a chinese version roborock, could brick the thing.

      • I have a spare android device. Please could you tell me where you downloaded the ‘modified’ app from and how you did this? I can’t find anything to do with it on the other deals or the internet.

    • Thanks for the info, this is a huge deal breaker for people with other xiaomi devices most of which need to be set to "mainland china". Did a little googling and the general consensus is the firmware update at the end of the year "might: solve it.

I have one of these. Love it. Havent had to vacuum my house once.

Have to figure out a away to clean the stairs though..

  • anyone know how this goes with shedding dog hair? currently use an old neato which does great on the hardwood floors with the rubber attachment in.

    • Works a treat on hard floors and dog air. We've tiles and its great. Set it to clean the house while at work. Can command it to clean certain areas from work.

Just need to ensure your floors are decluttered of stuff it could get stuck on or bind up the brush mechanisms.

      • awesome thanks mate… yep used to other robovacs so always close bedroom doors and do those manually… hard to keep an entire house clutter free especially with kids so always aim to just keep the main hardwood living areas clear.

  • I have one of these. Throughly enjoyed the vac and mop until recently the mop tank just cracked and is now leaking water.
I suspect it's a design flaw that if you had mop run over steps between rooms (like in my case the bathroom tiles are ~2cm higher than the hallway floor board) then the plastic might just crack while climbing. Gearbite won't cover the warranty on parts after 3months. Considering buying a replacement tank from else where on ebay - but it's expensive (~$50 shipped).

    • That does suck but I didn't find the mop to be that useful.

    • Yeah I don't bother with the mop function. Need some real muscle for that.

      • What's wrong with it?

I just bought two days agao and I have not received and might have to refund and re-purchse again

  • Anyone know how these things go with stairs? Is it possible to put it downstairs and away it goes, or does the recharging base being on a different level confuse it?

    • I really don't think it's possible that it could climb stairs. I think you'd need one for upstairs… and one for downstairs and one for each stair!

      • Will improve my Frogger skills every time I need to climb the stairs.

    • +1

Don't have one but from what I have heard, you can carry it to a different level and tell it to start and it will return to where you placed it when it is done.

      • This is true. I do this. Works fine. There's "cliff detection" so it won't fall down the stairs. I get a notification via the app on my phone once it's done & then just carry it back downstairs & press "dock" to make it dock again.

  • I read in another thread that the Chinese firmware was better than the Aus one?
Is that essentially what the "Aust Version" means?

Can anyone comment on this please?

    • As Remorhaz pointed out above, the "non chinese" firmware can not be added to the "Mainland China" region. If you have multiple xiaomi devices you would know this a huge hassle.

      • I don't have any other Xiaomi products.

I guess what I'm wanting to know is whether it's better for me to buy one in China and use it here, or is the Aust version just as good?

        • +1

From what i read, diff is only in the language voice and which region it can be registered to, the australian version speak english. The chinese version use to only speak chinese, but it can speak english now too with installation of language pack. Ithe advantage of the chinese version is you can registered it in the same server as all your other devices.

          • @huu: Thanks for the info. May just pull the trigger :)

  • Reading up all the reviews…..
    About to pull the trigger.

    Anyone NOT recommend it?

  • Purchased, great chrissy gift, thanks!

  • Can the Australian version installed on the Singapore server?

  • Wow. The delivery was fast. Ordered on 7th afternoon and received on 9th morning.
