This is a thing now. I've pretty much given up on Optus for this reason.
If you call up to activate and exclusively tell them that your number is still in their system.. after a FEW DAYS it SHOULD work.
I was considering calling after I left and asked them to delete my number from the system to see if it helps with future port ins…BUT…C.B.A..
If you're a sim slut, avoid this and grab the Vodafone deal from Coles this week for $9.
I would but I just finished a vodaphone sim today :( I've got a few free $40 voda sims left too - bought 6 when they were $20 with bonus $20 netflix gift card.
Have you tried calling up and doing a 'sim replacement' and see if the credit will come across?
If not, if it was me porting right now from voda, I would be going to Kogan.
@tunzafun001: Yeah i have a kogan sim from groupon deal coming but they only shipped it today :( hence diging into my optus stash.
tried porting to amaysim this morning instead and they've botched it so good chance my number is gone :( If its not sorted tomorrow morn i'll just activate a voda sim on a new number :(

I tried to port out from Optus, and they tell me my number is not with them.
So you can still use Optus Perks? If so, it is good.
One thing to note everyone - I tried to port back into optus after being on vodafone and kogan for a few months and optus still has the number in their system so I can't port back :( Be careful if you are going to sim slut around.
