Ignore that sneaky countdown timer. It starts at 9 hours 39 minutes on every device. It never runs outs.

A strong reason not to pay them.

Also speeds were not great when I used them.

PIA is similar price range and significantly faster.

I've switched from PIA to Nord. With PIA my connection would hang and it would fail to detect it. Often happens switching networks or when in a poor signal area.

The PIA Mac app is flakier than their iOS app. Tunnelblick is a worthy replacement. The Nord app for macOS works flawlessly all the time.

Speed wise Nord is generally faster. As they give you finer grained controls over which server you connect to it is easy to switch to a less congested server. PIA route your traffic through pools of proxies, which causes session issues with some sites. Nord don't do that.

          Happy I switched to Nord.

    … why?

    • because it sounds cool!

and it's helpful in places which block VPNs

I’d wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals.

    • yep. that and there's plenty of other cheaper options.

    • +1

+1 waiting to see what Nord does on then.

    • When would we expect Black Friday deals to start?

      • The 23rd November is Black Friday in 2018.

        • +1

For the last few year Black Friday deals are starting earlier and earlier (marketing department’s idea).
Last year Black Friday NordVPN deal was posted here on Nov 7th.
It was $99 USD for 3 years.

          • @SickDmith: so you guys saying it will come with more discount on Black Friday?

            • @petrosi: Possible.
We will have to wait another 11 months for Black Friday 2019 sales.

  • PIA is cheaper ($89.95usd - ~$125aud per three years) and having used both I think PIA is just as good if not better than nord, they have a HUGE benefit of allowing torrenting on the aussie servers (because they set up automatic proxy for all torrent traffic) nordvpn was a royal pain to change to canadian server or whatever every single time I wanted to torrent something. Nord also keeps putting their prices up, only a few years ago it was around the same price as PIA for 3 years but it just keeps creeping up where pia at least seems to be a lot more stable

    … why?

..So it 'sounds good' - more 'features' always better right? Not that it ever actually worked properly when I tried it or anyone would ever actually use it

    • Nord also keeps putting their prices up.

Yep years ago i paid $108 AUD for 2 years with Nord (also a discounted deal), so disappointed at this 'deal'.

Anybody know if I can tack this onto my existing Nord subscription?

    • +1

I want to know the same.

  • I got another question…
6 simultaneous connection is way more than I need.
Can I share my account with my brother who lives overseas?

Terms of use says "no sharing, no this, no that".
But they say they don't log things… No ip-addresses and etc. So how would they know… :)

Just don't what to pay $100+ USD and get the account suspended once two simulations connections from two different countries are established.

OP, title doesn't include GST which it appears you have to pay for when going through checkout.

  • Anyone know if Cashrewards cash back will land. I'm getting a 28.00% cashrewards offer pop up on their page. Would this honestly bring the price down to 77.44USD for 3 years? Seems mad.

    • Nah they are doing us dirty and only offering cash back on 1,3,6 and 12 month subscriptions which are shit value compared to 3 years. I bought the 3 years and have been waiting for my sale to be tracked all week wondering where it was and then read the special terms for Nord. Pretty pissed off the 28% back was really the only reason I justified buying it.

        Hey brother,

How long ago was this? If it is under 30 days - ask them for a refund. Pretty legit, they issued mine with no pushback (other than the one copy pasta “are you sure?”) within the same day.

Then sign up for ebates. Just got 40% back on a 3 year plan. 3 years for under $70USD that’s a killer deal. I’ve used ebates for heaps of things before, really like them. Rate them equal to cash back AU.

Hope you still have time to do this.

    • See my other comment below but it is usually 20% back with ebates and atm it is 40% cashback.

      Mad deal, just got mine.
