What scenarios have you used these in which have been extremely beneficial given its design?
Tempted to buy a couple because they look so useful but having trouble thinking of how I can use them specifically for their space spacing function.
They look great but in reality they are a bit cumbersome. I have the 4 port with 2 USB 2.4A ports. I pretty much just leave one in the office, and occasionally get it out if I go to a long meeting with a few people who need to charge their devices. That's it. I used to lug it around when I traveled, but I found that anything semi-permanent (like a hotel room for a few days) it didn't work that well - the cables never went the way I wanted them to go and it just ended up being a mess on a desk. I take one of the Xiaomi powerboards when I travel now.
In my mind, instead of having a power strip with cables all coming from the same direction, you've now got cables coming from 5 different directions.
Yes, exactly - it's just a mess. The use case really is limited to a meeting room when you have people around a table, and it actually kind of works if you have cables going into the powerboard at different angles. But other than that, it's a pain.
Basically just a travel power board, and I love them =p
I use mine on bedside tables in tight spaces, or where the power point design is such that they are tucked behind furniture. Means you can plug in devices to charge at your bedside, alarm clocks, lamps etc.
Great for overseas travel.
