      Dicey mate, I wouldn't do it myself.

      Maybe if you have heard her talk about it in the past, or you know she goes to the salon to get IPL treatments done and could save her money and time. If you don't know that she wants it, then she might take it as though you want her to be less hairy.

      I bought my mum a clipper set when I was 16 for her birthday so she could cut my hair rather than spending money every time on a buzz cut for myself. I learned then to not get a woman/girl a present that could be misconstrued as a present for yourself.

        I bought my gf a really decent vacuum cleaner once, when most blokes would've just presented half a dozen roses.

        Thought I'd be really nice.

        Ended up wishing I'd just stumped up another $6 for a dozen- instead of $300 on that vacuum!

        Only done one session (and I'm male), so it's hard to tell. But I was impressed by the product (build quality, operation etc) - but too early to judge results.

            @Bunsen: There’s a study that showed a decline in sperm count for a short duration afterwards then it went back to normal. But, who knows the long term effects. I’d clean the dead ones out as soon as possible.

        It's less than half the difference after cashback ($89 vs $169 if using SHAVE10).

        Having said that, I bought the Philips yesterday and had I known this would have been coming the next day, I would have held off for this as reviews seem positive for both. It also has bluetooth (not that it makes any difference beyond a gimmick).

      Never use IPL on your face unless you love patchy stubble. Hair will often regrow unevenly until you’ve got it all, which can take months. Then it will regrow in patches sporadically afterwards.

      Plus, don’t use it above the cheekbone if you like being able to see.

      It’s great for body/arm/leg hair, fine (female) facial hair, etc. But for a thick beard? Just shave.
