6GB/s seems pretty quick. I've just bought a few to replace my SSD's. Thanks, OP.

That's the SATA interface, not write/read speeds of the HDD.

Do you know if there's any way I can unsell my SSD's from Gumtree?

        • Just say they are no longer available.

          • @garetz: The buyer convinced me to sell them as he assured me that SSD's are old tech compared to these newer mechanical drives. Thanks anyway.

It's better to buy WD My Book from officeworks and then shuck it. You'll save 50 bucks

You'll have to pricematch to this - https://www.amazon.com.au/WD-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBBGB00… to get a great price

    • the disk in your link is not really good for NAS. Inside is WD80EZZX. 5400rpm Helium drive

      • You're right but for people who want storage with good read and write speeds, this is an option worth considering I guess

      • I've put some time into this as I've got an EZZX and looking to get more of the 8TB MyBook's. Problem is that it's technically a "white" label and jury is splt whether it's a Red, marked-down Black spec, HGST or "something" else. YMMV depending on which batch of MyBook or EasyDrive you buy. If reliability & guaranteed quality is the issue, I personally reckon besy bet is still to stick with an officially labelled Red/Black/etc (EFAX in this case)
