Im not sure if this is a bargain considering how much cheaper recent 42" LCD deals have been on here?

      This is LED.

      • It's still an LCD though

          Nato,

OHKI is full edge lit backlight LED technology. The latest in LED TV and much better than a normal LCD TV. Sorry for any confusion in the Ad.

How is this a better deal than this one please:

    LED also posted earlier today!

don't think that one had the pvr function built in

      Thanks for your question.

The OHKI TV is 120 HZ not 50HZ, this result in a better quality picture. The OHKI TV also has PVR function, plus free delivery any where in OZ, free wallmount, free USB and Free HDMI cable.

Much better picture and more add on value for Ozbargin website users only.

      Regards,

      OHKI

    A 16Gb USB? Is it redeemable for 2 x 8Gb Firewires instead?

    • ferretallicA

Sorry we only have 16gb USB in stock. Thanks for your question though.

        What about a 16Gb PCI?

        • Sorry we only have standard 16GB USB swivel sticks. Perfect for holding up to 15 feature length movies with the PVR function.

          Team OHKI.

      • Do you have any Firewire USBs?

        • Yes, but they fit into parallel port.

I was excited when I saw the title "42—>'<— LED TV…", i.e. 42 feet TVs! That would be a bargain! Then I clicked through…

    • Worlds Biggest TV at 42 feet!

for those considering this, here are some reviews for your reading pleasure, courtesy of links found via whirlpool threads:

  • I find it quite odd that Ohki can sell this unit on E-Bay at just $699 at the moment.

I'm sure most OzBargainers would prefer the $100 saving over the freebies thrown-in.

Also, to get an extra years warranty is $69, which is a bit much I think, considering Dick Smiths (as an example) offers 2 years for just $79.95 on similarly priced TV's.

  • Isnt 120hz American…does that affect the performance here

    • SAY WHAT!

American is NTSC( 29.97 fps meaning 59.94 interlaced fields per second) while PAL(europe and Australia) is ~ 50 Interlaced fps. This makes the 60 Hz and 50 Hz respectively. Any tv with field rating above that can play most movies and all tv shows properly. Not too sure about 3D since I hate it!

    • You're referring to the wrong thing - this 120Hz is the refresh rate, not a playback property.

      • that is why I am talking about the fields per second. All I am saying is that he might be thinking of the American NTSC system while actually you shouldn't have any problem with any TV with refresh rate(Frames per second) of over 50Hz.

Bottomline - any TV with refresh rate of over 50 Hz should be alright for Australian viewing. Personally I find anything over 60 Hz jerky and 3D annoying

  • All I know is when I look at Amazon.com the tvs are 120 hz and when I look at Amazon.co.uk they are like Australia 100hz ….just wondering why we have a 120hz tv in Australia

    • I'm guessing 3D works better with 120Hz, It shouldn't matter anyways
