    Are you serious
….This is one dollar cheaper than your last deal
    I should buy another one

  • Oh what I literally ordered late this afternoon

  • how is this vs the roomba 637

    • +3

Not sure about 637, but it certainly beats my 537, the dust bin and brushes are better designed, longer battery life, seems to suck more too.

  • Can I do any TRS in airport? Cheers

    • Yes.

    • +3

Are you going to be travelling with your robot vacuum cleaner?! You have to be if you want to claim TRS.

      • What are the minimum and maximum value to claim trs?

        • At least $300 from a registered aust retailer

      • All about money…

  • Got from previous deal, awesome product!

  • I've bought three this year already!

    • tell me about it lol

  • +1

Mine got firmware update today, looks like it can save one map now.

    • I'm really interested in one of these, but want to save several areas. Large house. Any chance the next model will do this?

    • +1

How to save the map? I am using gen 1 but still can’t seem to find how to save the map with the latest update. It will be handy if I can save the full map of my house for future zone cleaning

  • +2

Want to buy but worried, bought 4 mi xiao fang cameras and xiaomi locked them and none works.. lost all money.. what if after few months/years this will stop working too?

    • have you tried installing fang-hacks on them

    • Hi, i recently updated my Xiaofag which stopped working 6 months before, now they are working fine. Try with one first.

    • +1

I have the same problem, xiaomi wifi extender, cameras etc none of them worth the effort to return…
That’s said, the xiaomi robovac has been the only thing that I’ve managed to get to connect to my wifi and I love it

    • What do you mean "xiaomi locked them"?

      • the are region locked so now can not be used in Australia.. you can set it to mainland china but its of no use..,

    • They won't lock the bot, but if you're paranoid, put it on wifi, use the app to configure it / schedule cleans if you wish, then change the wifi password.
You don't really need a notification when it starts cleaning do you?

    Hey gearbite
Any deals on the Gen 1?
Hoping to snag one of them. :)

  • +1

I have tried to use push10 code in checkout, it didn't work, why is that?

  • I hate mopping floors as it gives me back pain. Will this be good enough for a two bedroom unit with no carpets? I also have Dyson V6 Absolute, so I want this just for cleaning/mopping the floor.

    • +2

Think of it more as "dragging a damp rag across the floor" than "mopping" and you'll get an idea of whether it's good enough.

      • Cheers. That answers it for me.

        • Sounds like you'll be ordering one then :-p

          • @goingDHfast: Haven't made up my mind yet. :)

            • +1

@AussieDaddy: I bought one previously in another sale. It died. I returned it and got a refund and I just bought another recently. Why? Because of the convenience.

I use the "mopping" function more as a maintenance clean. I still use the normal mop and bucket method around once a month but when the vacuum comes out once every few days, it does those maintenance mops for me.

    • +1

We run the mop function twice a week and vacuum each other day and haven't needed to mop since we got it. As it is just dragging a damp rag on the floor, it's not going to pick up something too sticky or a large mess, but we can get our mop to spot wash it.
I do add a small amount of disinfectant to the water though so that might help the cleaning. The water also runs out at about 30 minutes so need to be paused for a top up. But it's very easy to remove and reinsert the mop.

Edit: Forgot to mention in a 3 bedroom house, so it'll do a 2 bedroom easily. The battery ends up 80-90% after a clean too so could easily do larger places.

      • Cool. My unit has only two bedroom, in which I only use one and the other is like a store. I have no kids and no pets (although I ain't the cleanest or the most organized bachelor lol), so this might work for me after all. It's just that I abhor cleaning with passion and would procrastinate and put it off until I have to, so if this, together with my Dyson V6, could do a reasonable job then I might get it.

        • +1

I hear you, plus I've hated vacuuming more than other chores; I'd rather push-mow a stadium than pull a noisy machine around the house.

I have kids and my 4 year old has the ability to bring more sand in the house than what can physically fit in her shoe - it's an anomaly in the universe - so you might get away with it less frequent than our cleaning cycle. But the frequency is what stops the build up to avoid the need the mop…

Definitely keep the V6 - we use our stick on the couch and bits around the house that the robot doesn't get to once in a while - but we're now getting rid of our main machine as it hasn't been touched, and the only time the mop has come out is for spot cleaning. So I think without kids and a smaller place, you'll be free of lugging the mop out unless you need to do spot cleaning 😊

  • still gutted bought at $485 :P

    • Bought at $525 😔

      • Bought mine around Christmas last year for $548.96. No regrets at all. We have a husky and the bin fills up every 2-3 days with fur. Hardly need to use the Dyson V10. I think it was worth buying it at that price for the time saved in not having to a weekly clean (30min x 47 weeks = 23.5 hours).

In saying that, I just lodged a price protection claim after seeing this price yesterday.

        • How does the price protection claim work? Since you bought it almost a year ago, I think it's normal to see the price drop as time passes, no? Do you have a CC that gives you price protection for 12 months or something? Just curious as I don't use CCs.

          • @AussieDaddy: the now unavailable coles mastercard allows price protection for 24 months. by unavailable, i mean they don't offer this benefit for new cardholders

            • @DrABCDEFG: I see. Having such a card would have been awesome now. Looks like they realized people were using the price protection too often and had to get rid of it.

          • +1

@AussieDaddy: 28 degress mastercard has 12 month price protection. basically free as I have zero balance each month

Also have damage protection which comes in handy as I just broke my S9+ screen.

  • +1

Is it worth getting the gen 2 over then gen 1 if I dont really plan on using the mop function? So purely for it's upgraded sensors and other features?

    EDIT: bought anyway.

    • I've got the same question. Anyone have experience with both?

    • I hear that the first one is great but the second one has a better design for crawling over objects, better mapping and a mopping feature.

Is it worth the 100$ extra? Dunno..

  • Is this price the cheapest for this version

  • Is it better to wait for black Friday sales?

  • Anyone have thoughts over a Samsung / others?

I've tried Roomba 690 and it's quite rubbish.

    • I reckon the 1st edition is the best value for money. I dont have either, but have friends who both have first edition and love it. If you want true mopping you need the irobot Scooba. Best was the 390 model, but it needs care. Not just a damp rag….

      • thanks!

  • Be careful ordering from these people guys, I ordered from them on the 9th November. They sent me the Aus tracking number and Ebay notification on the 12th Nov that the item was sent out expecting delivery by the 15th/16th (I'm in Melbourne, they in melbourne too).

All of this week I've been constantly tracking my order from Aus post but there was no movement at all. Called up Aus post thinking something went wrong on their end and they gave me a reference number and told me to contact these people. Let them know and then they tell me that they actually sent out my item yesterday! WTF!!

I'm been messaging them back and forth regarding my order but they keeping hush hush now! I don't even know if they really sent out my item because they tracking is obviously something else!! Be aware!!!!

    • Please PS your ebay ID, I will check for you directly.

    • Mine just got marked as sent… Hope I dont get same issue.

    • As soon as they add a tracking number, ebay automatically marks it as sent. It's not limited to this seller

  • +1

Bit the bullet and bought after considering this for a long time - hope I made the right decision! :)

    • +1

      You'll love it

  • Any deals on the hepa filters?

  • +1

I have 1st gen and my dad bought 2nd gen. Both brilliant devices. The 2nd gen handles their thick pile rugs well. And I love my 1st gen.

    • Is there much difference between the 2? Besides the mopping??

      • Slightly better suction, slightly better at getting over bumps, automatically detects carpet/rugs and ups the suction, better mapping of rooms.

If $100 is lots of money to you then get 1st gen, otherwise I think 2nd gen is worth it even without factoring in the "mopping" feature.

  • Any chance of this 20% off?

    • Yeah. Me too! I'm keen to buy….just need a final push!

  • Sooo, my better half is almost at the point of agreeing to purchase this device (except for the price!), but she's worried about the capacity of the on-board dust storage "box". She recalls seeing another unit (not Xiaomi) at a mate's about 6 years ago, and it kept filling up with crap and needing to be emptied (which, from my perspective, is kind of the whole point….!). Our place is only 154m2, mostly bamboo flooring, and we have a cat. It gets dusty, but not too hard to vacuum I think. So, does this thing keep filling up and needing to be emptied? Or, will it manage a full run through the house before it needs emptying? Thanks.

    • I only have the V1, but I'll comment as it's probably similar.

The first time I ran it, it filled up 3 times in one session (kept stopping). That's because I used to vaccum 1x / month at most.
Now I have this bot run every day, and I empty the cache every Sunday (could probably push it a few more days, but I like routine).

The same is mostly true for the 3 people I've bought this for (I'm generous at Christmas time). One of my friends had to empty it 3x in the first run, then 1x during the second run, but now it's a weekly thing like mine.

  • +1

I bought it 4 days ago and it still hasn't been shipped… Status is still Paid.

Any idea how long it will take?

  • I second ValouSydney's comment. I saw your edit and my order was just after the 10:28am cutoff so according to the edit it should be posted today or tomorrow. Any update?

    • +1

Yes, most of orders processed today, if you still not mark shipped, should be at tomorrow batch. Please contact us if you still not receive any update tomorrow.

      • Great, got the notification. Will I get a tracking number?
