Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay $20 (RRP $39.99) @ Target

380

So the movie might be savaged by critics, but you can still grab your copy of the screenplay for 50% off! It's advertised as $22 in the current Target catalogue so I was surprised when I was asked to pay $20.

Kudos to the guy at Target Broadway who had to dig out a copy out the back for me yesterday morning as they weren't on display yet!

$20 is approximately two Galleons and five Sickles if my Maths is correct, going by this exchange rate table.

      I second that..

When the movie lets you down but you love it regardless because you're a Potter fan ^_^

You didn’t think the movie was that great? I thought it was pretty good.

      • Just felt like nothing happened tbh. It was essentially a part 1 of ?

        • 100% agree. They’re bulking out the story line & connecting the dots. For how many more, probably as long as they can milk it.

We love the movie! It is a great movie when you walk out thinking the bastard didn’t get killed or locked up but walk free. Can’t wait till the next one.

    • Any idea why the book is written like a script from a play instead of like a novel?

      • +3

Because it's a screenplay. As the title of the book indicates.

    Harry Potter fans are weird.

I think they should all be deported and exiled to Tasmania.

    • +9

I think Twilight fans are worse. ;)

        Absolutely.

You’re clearly one yourself and hinting at the fact there is a town called Grindewald in Tasmania. Nice try, though.

  • I was thinking of posting this deal yesterday. I normally purchase Potter books from Big W or Kmart on launch day. There was no stock in Kmart Footscray or Big W Highpoint. As a last resort, I went into Target Highpoint and found plenty of copies on display, price matched with Big W.

    • How much are Big W selling their copies for? Edit: also $20

I didn't see any on display in Kmart Broadway yesterday and as my OP says, I had to ask the poor guy to find a copy for me out the back while he was unpacking the new Switch Pokémon games as I couldn't find any copies on display and really wanted a copy before I went to work.

Interestingly, no Target store in Sydney appears to have copies if you use the website to check …

Appreciate the conversion, saved me a few clicks

    • How's life with Harry Potter as your master?

  • Having seen the movie, I'm almost surprised they had a script.
Maybe this would help me make sense of it. Or is it better to just glaze over and enjoy the special effects and cute characters?

    • Going by the reviews, seems like the latter.

How cute is the Niffler? Newt's cute too ahaha

  • Also for $20 at Big W

  • Thanks OP - Bought 1. Went into an independent book store and was shocked to see them selling for $39.99

$19 at BIGW with FAF discount but ends today

    Or $18.05 with 5% e-gift Card Cashrewards

    • Isn't the discount 10%, which makes it $18? $19 is 95% of $20

      • Oopsy. Bran fade.

FAF offer/e-gift Card should be $17.10

    • That's good. I'll go get one from BigW

  • Just came back from the Shops and BIG W also selling the book for $20 as well.

The one we bought is the one that has a hard cover, not sure if the one in Target also hard cover as the shopping centre we went does not have a Target for me to check.

Good price for the book though. :)

The one in Target and all the other shops selling it is a hardcover; the paperback isn't released until later
