We just had a deal with the 8th gen i5 for $1250… and there's a Black Friday deal in the US for the same model with keyboard cover for that price as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a deal like that hit our shores over the next month, though it is just the 128GB SSD (which won't matter to most people).

Looking at getting a 2in1 detachable device…
3rd gen with keyboard and pen are selling around $400
I can vouch for 3rd gen if you can get one that's been well looked after. I got an i5/8GB/256GB for $400. 3rd gen keyboard is a bit crap so get a newer newer one if you can (for a good price of course).

Pen and keyboard kills these deals. I wouldn't put so much money on a dual core before the quads are on special.
