I think this would rate in my top 10 of useless shit to buy

I am using it always when wash my cars, I don't like it to be shiny, so I usually apply, and then wipe tyres with dry Cloths, works as a treat and looks great

      • That might be a good idea. I've used this tyre shine a few times before and it always ends up dripping on my rims. I should give it a wipe next time

Good when you sell a car. Makes it look much better.

      • To an idiot. I was literally looking at a car detailed to the crap last week at a dealer. First question? 'What are you trying to hide?'

Turns out there was a massive oil leak from the timing chain area. Motor was terminal. They just wanted rid of the car.

yeah but it would look cool in your drive way and make you the envy of your neighbours in their not do detailed cars.

          • @garage sale: I was going around to dealers asking if they had any vans with smooshed in food and dints galore and if I could have it.

Just wanted something to rip the interior out and use for deliveries

Does this leave residue in the wheel wells when it comes off? When I bought my car the dealer had some tyre shine bullshit on it and after a long trip most of it came off and got flicked up into the fender liners and is a hassle to get off.

    • haven't noticed anything like this, but I always try to give it some time to dry before driving, but it definitely seals driveway if you accidentally spray some over concrete while applying on the tyres, and water doesn't go through the concrete on those spots…

hmmm maybe I can use it as a cheap sealant for the shower lol

    • +1

Yeah I agree - I hate it when the tyre places put it on after they sell you new tyres - after rain, the tyre black is sprayed up the bottom of the doors….yuck.

  • I have several cans of this from the last deal.
Whilst it's cheap, the shine doesn't seem to last too long on the tyres compared to some of the other brands.
In this case you do get what you pay for.

  • Save the environment and buy tyre gel which lasts longer.

save the environment and use neither.

If you're trying to restore plastic car trims then use a heat gun carefully for longer term results.

Can a heat gun also prevent an iPad pro from bending?

  • I believe this somehow protect the tyres a tad bit if the car is parked in open area and directly under the sun.

    • protect tyres from sun ….heck it’s tyre rubber spf 500+. will wear out before UV kills it.

  • This spray on tire shine doesn’t last very long, and I’d even go as far to say that the tyres look worse a couple of weeks after applying this stuff.

Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel is freaking awesome. But that’s not the deal unfortunately.

Can this be used on hair? Asking for a friend who wants the wet look.

Might be good to prevent head lice from penetrating. Send your kid to school with a can of export!

  • +1

    Smells good too 👍😀👍

  • depending on which batch of cans you buy, there are some that leak liquid when spraying even when holding the can upright

a lot of wastage essentially only being able to use half the can
