A few gift providers have 10% off egift cards for an extra $350 off https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

  • Fantastic tv.

  • I thought only LG did OLED, anyone knows if the panasonic is a real OLED with the black depth? or is it just a marketing term like QLED or ULED

    • +5

There are dozens of posts on here about the Panasonic OLEDs? Sony, LG, and Panasonic all have OLED. But they all use LG screens

    • +5

LG sold their OLED panel to Panasonic & Sony.
Then Samsung tried to compete by making QLED

      • +3

I am 99% sure Samsung expect people to miss that little stroke in "Q"…
Good try, Samsung.. Good try. :)

    • +2

Panasonic and Sony along with Hisense now use LG OLED panels

As it so happens I was just reading a recent whirlpool thread on this topic https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2765266#…

    • Pretty sure its illegal to name your tv oled and not be oled.

So just doing the calcs on the stack:

    Price: $3499
    Cashback: $192.45
Gift Cards: $349 (with $1 leftover)
    = $2957.55 + delivery

    Under $3k!!

    • Factor in Delivery though for the C8 65":)

      • Realised I shortchanged the stack by 99c and there would only be 1c leftover #fail

    • Important Change: Cashback will not be paid on the purchase of Gift Cards. Cashback will be paid when Gift Cards are used as a payment method.

      • +3

        In my stack above you:

        • Purchase $3500 of giftcards for $3150 - No cashback. Saving $350
        • Buy the TV from DJs using the $3500 giftcards you just bought - 5.5% cashback on $3500 = $192.45
        • Oh I cannot read properly. Busy day.

          Thanks.

        • Is the cash back on the full amount or the amount pre GST amount?

  • No delivery options for WA by the looks of it, anyone get pass this in WA?

    • Got the same result when I entered my location for the 55" Panasonic and I'm in the Illawarra (an hour south of Sydney).

Edit: The 55" LG displays appropriate delivery options though.

      • +1

Yep same results, delivery options only shown for the LG not Panasonic.

    • I live in WA, got delivery fee about $50, and the sales person will contact us.
Not sure if we can check out

  • +1

Am i the only one having issues with getting past the delivery step, im trying to purchase the 55" but it says it cannot be delivered to my location, 20km from cbd?

Also i purchased a bag few months back from DJs and the system didnt want to accept gift cards online has that been fixed?

  • +1

Yeah I tried delivery for every single capital city in Australia, and they all said delivery not available. Best option would be to try a pricematch

  • How does the Panasonic compare to the LG OLED?
Worth waiting for a 55" LG deal at the same price?

    • Panasonic has the better colour reproduction, LG has better OS and Dolby Vision.

      • I've heard that as well.
        I don't know where to ask but…
Is Panasonic + Apple TV 4k is better than LG (software wise)?

        • +1

Idk mate, never used an Apple TV nor tried using the Web OS software on the LG, sorry.

I would imagine it'd be good enough though.

        • I would say no because Apple TV 4K supports Dolby Vision that’s not available on Panasonic OLED’s. I’d go the LG if that’s your main criteria.

  • +2

Does anyone think this will get cheaper than 3500 (Not including gift cards / cashback) from a bricks and mortar store?
Ordering through the Qantas mall also earns 35k Qantas points.

    https://shopping.qantas.com/david-jones?int_cam=au:qantas-sh…

    • Will this stack with shopback? Im guessing not right

      • +1

        No

        • Trying to decide if $177.70 cash back from Shopback is better than getting 35k QFF points

          • @zinga77: I'm pretty sure you will get free delivery via the Qantas mall option. Says all orders over $100 includes free delivery. Might be something to be factored into the equation.

            • +1

@WavingNotDrowning: I originally thought this as well, but it says free "Standard" delivery, and it says it is a regular DG offer not Qantas specific. When you look at DG's website, It also says free standard delivery, but then has another option "Standard Bulky" which is what I believe this TV comes under.

              • +1

@FadeToBlack: Yes - you're right. I've just bought this TV. Decided on the Qantas option (personal choice). Was charged $55 delivery.

Happy with my purchase. Can't wait!

                • +1

                  @WavingNotDrowning: Awesome, enjoy!
I am also ready to buy any day now.. was waiting to see what offers were available as the price has dropped so much, but may bite on this one.

    • Worth noting the following from the Qantas mall T&Cs for David Jones:

Qantas Points will not be earned on tax and delivery charges, gift cards or orders redeemed with a gift card, purchases that include any voucher, coupon or discount code that is not sourced from the Online Mall platform.

      • Decided to buy with the Cashrewards 8% cash back and used my 28 degrees so I can claim price protection for a year rather

      • So that means we can’t buy the 10% discounted gift cards and use them to purchase and earn Qantas Points? That sucks.

  • You can find the 65EZ950U here for $3,299.00 + delivery. Apparently little difference between the EZ and FZ models.

    • You can get the FZ series for $3192 here plus delivery

      • True, but if you can get the David Jones gift cards at 10% discount, this would work out slightly cheaper.

        • +1

I guess. Brings it to close to its lowest ever price of $2999 from a weeks ago

  • Jumped on the SOny A1 $3K deal too quick, the C8 seems like a good deal after GC and Cash rewards.

  • Awesome, thanks dude. Just put in my 30 day price guarantee claim in with Good Guys and get $144 back :)

  • +1

I had a toss up between the oleds and the lg always seems to come out on top. Price, performance and exspecially if you game in hdr

  • Entertainment book is sold out of DJs e-gift cards and AGL just took 3 days to send me Kmart e-gifts after I had to chase them up - can anyone else suggest a reliable source of discounted e-gift cards that will arrive within a couple of hours? I have a feeling that anything attractively priced will be bought out by Friday and chasing this component of the deal might not be worth the wait…

    • My employer benefits portal sells them at 10% too so worth exploring if you have that option

    • Also you could go in store and lay buy or similar?

    • Suncorp benefits is generally instant for most e-gift cards also (but only 6%)

  • Now it's telling me the Panasonic 55" is unavailable :( I was so close to pulling the trigger.

  • FYI 55 C8 are only display models in NSW

    • Ho do you know? It doesn't say that. DJs can't Send display stock without advertising it?

      • They work in the Chadstone DJs

        • Oic. Dammm that's not good floor stock concidered as new wth…

          • @Turd: we can't send displays without seeing it any orders will be rejected

    • Website was saying this would be direct shipped from vendor? How would they be display models then?

      • TVs don't come from the vendor we have stock in a warehouse and are unable to order.. only white goods and mattresses come direct

        • I don't think anyone cares whether it comes from the vendor warehouse or DJs warehouse. We are only concerned with receiving the product.

If LG have stock available of the TV, why can't DJs order that stock and send it to us when it arrives in your warehouse? That seems like the most logical solution.

  • have….to……resist……..need to wait……for…….8k……OLED…….my……..2010……plasma with superior quality motion……still not dying……..

  • the base of the new Samsungs look ugly.

  • That's pretty good price for 65" C8 LG.
I wonder if we can expect a bit better price any time soon.
Was hoping for $3300 (before OzBargaining CashRewards, gift cards and etc)
    :)

  • Panasonic 55" now $2499

  • So I'm neither an AGL customer or Entertainment Book subscriber.
What's the turn around time for getting the DJ gift cards if I signed up to Entertainment Book this morning? Are they relatively quick?

    • I don’t have one, but I’ve seen other OzBargainers comment that the Entertainment Book currently has no DJs eGift Cards for sale (this might not be the case - can others confirm?)

  • Is this better than the Sony A8F?

    • I think so, A8F is slow and laggy the menu will annoy the shit out of you

      • Hmm really? I thought the X1 was better than Alpha9? How about the LG E8 too?

  • TV noob here but would the C8 55" be better than the Samsung Nu8000 55"? May be comparing apples and oranges but would the superiority be worth the price difference is around 700-800 (can possibly get the Nu8000 55 for around 1300)?

    • +1

Find the store with both models on display. Compare.
      Don't trust anyone. ;)

  • anyone know if DJ actually have 'printed catalogue' showing this TV deal?
I bought this one from HN on my HSBC CC which has the Guaranteed Pricing Scheme.
I was trying to make a claim to get the price difference back but told that a printed catalogue is needed as evidence :(

    • The only catalogue there is for DJs is the Christmas catalogue

      • Yeah just stopped by a DJ, no luck

    • Is this the same for 28 Degree "Price protection"?

      • +1

No 28 degrees accept screenshots this is what they put in my email

So that we can make a final decision on your claim, quoting the above claim number, please provide us with a copy of the original purchase receipt.

In addition to the above, please provide evidence of the price reduction.

Acceptable evidence includes one of the following

        · Catalogue
        · Online advertisement
        · In-store photo, including the date of sale

  • -1

Any idea when this sale finishes?

  • About to pull the trigger and noticed Cash rewards was now offering 8% when I was going to click through to DJs website.

    • Even better!

    • Man i pulled the trigger on this too quick, only got 5.5% with shop back, and it hasnt even shown up as registered

  • I can't get cashback to trigger on the DJ's website. Can anyone help me? I really want to buy this tv.

    • Try not using your phone browser. Use a laptop or desktop. Make sure you have cookies enabled.

      • Thanks for your help but it is still not working :( I have disabled ad blocker. It works on every other site but the DJ's website.

  • Is the 65” C8 out of stock now?

    • Seems to be. I can't add that model to the cart. Other models I can.

    • I can't even get on the site to check

Yep looks like it might be all over for the 65 can't add to cart anymore….

  • Anyone else just get their order cancelled?

    • I'd suggest going in store if that's an option for you. They should be able to order the product in for you even if they (and associated warehouses) don't have stock

Note: this is just an assumption

Note also: no cashback this way (unless they accept Qantas FF in store?)

    • Might be out of stock. When I purchased mine at 9am this morning they said there was only one 65” left in stock.

    • Did you receive an email that your item is out of stock? I placed my order around 11:30am for the 65 inch.

My order is still showing pending

      • I received an email with no explanation as to why the order was cancelled, only that they were unable to fulfill the order. I placed my order 2 days ago.

"Thank you for ordering with David Jones Online.

On this occasion, we're sorry to advise we are unable fulfil the item(s) in your order."
