Can't give a review because still in the box (birthday present).

Cherry MX Brown $168.35 also available for delivery (+$6.95) - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/gaming-keyboard/hyperx-alloy-eliteā€¦

  • Is there any mechanical keyboards that are not noisy?

    • Try Cherry MX silence. I got one from Corsair Strafe I think

    • The brown seemed fairly quiet. And you can get o-rings to dampen the sound. Best to try them out yourself.

      • I've had a Kogan 'board with Browns for a couple of years at work, and people around me don't generally complain about a racket (usually an accurate barometer of noise levels). Although, I do like the idea of O-rings, might check those out now.

not really unless you have a light touch.

most cherry switches actuate silently, but will still make a lot of noise if you bottom out when you press the keys which for me is extremely easy to do.

EDIT:^O-rings are a good call actually.

    • Logitech Mechanical Keyboards are very quiet. They uses ROMER-G TACTILE KEY SWITCHES. I have a G910 ORION Spark.

    • Unless you get Cherry MX Blues, the loudness of mech keyboards is overrated. Unless you need absolute minimal noise, you should be pretty good with browns, if not, get MX Silent switches.

  • I don't know look for MX Silent key switches?

    • According to au.pcpartpicker.com these are the keyboards which have cherry mx silent key switches. Image

  • beat me to the post :)

  • compatible to mac? thanks

    • Yes, but not all the keys map equally out-of-the-box (Command, Option, etc). Decent mechanical keyboards for Macs are rather hard to find. I've recently seen one by a company called Keytron, which does have the added advantage of being wireless as well.

Any JB Hifi Rep reading this?

Elite version is normally more expensive than FPS version.

Would be sweet to make the FPS version better price, please? Say… $89.50? :)

    • Red for gaming, blue for typing, brown is considered in between. You really need to try them out.

      • red is best :)
