        7th Gen IS last Gen…. we're now up to 8th Gen, and most importantly, double the core count.

        8th Gen destroys 7th Gen in perf. Its not the usual 5-10% bump.

        You're getting a nice discount with this deal but its a lot less horsepower.

        Normal users probably won't care, power users will.

        Also, no thunderbolt or USB-C.

      It’s pretty competitive with the 2018 MacBook Air. For around the same price, you’ll get a dual core i5 processor, 128gb storage and 8gb of RAM.

              @josho9: Possibly? Thought the free upgrade finished but could be wrong on that.

              Either way much better CPU in latest model. The i5 from Surface laptop 2 competes with the i7 from previous gen.

    Finally pulled the pin on this after researching the Surface Laptop 2 i5 / 8GB / 256GB spec vs this older two core i7 revision
