The MiBox 3 is a piece of garbage, hope this is better, but wouldn't buy Xiaomi ever again.

    • Agreed, waiting for Nvidia Shield to drop below $150.

    • do you have any facts to base that on?

Ever since the Oreo update nothing works properly. Any decoded audio randomly cuts out for a second or two. Sometimes it just refuses to decode audio altogether and requires a reboot. Half the time when it wakes up its stuck in a pink / green screen bug requiring a reboot. Sometimes it just exits the app for no reason at all. Sometimes it throws a network error and stops playing. Often doesn't show up in the list of chromecast devices. Could go on but it's not in a good state at the moment.

        • Mine and my Dad's the same. I bought a shield a couple of months back and it's an absolute gem.

I bought my Mi Box in September 2016, on release day from Walmart, so it's had a good run, but time to retire it now.

Maybe you have bad codecs in the videos you are watching

There's a bunch of talk on the /AndroidTV reddit.

  • I have no issues with my 2 mi boxs with android 8, they play netflix, youtube, kodi, they turn on and off the tv with no issues.

  • This is also the new model, not the old model so you cant compare old with new

  • Will this new Xiaomi have the English interface?

  • says code expired ….

  • Why bother with this when local Vodafone TV is 72 bucks?
