No. But that's a lot of phone for less than $200.

      • -1

So are the LeEcos floating around for 50 bucks less with same processor

        • Link please..

            • @adrianhughes1998: I can't be bothered comparing them, but just because they share the same processor doesn't make it a better buy. Always look at the whole system. So besides the processor and $50 cheaper, do you have anything else to add why this would be a better buy over sharp?

              • -1

@bargainparker: Did I say it was better?

                • @adrianhughes1998: Hmm, did I say it was better? I said why it was a better buy. But anyway compare oranges with oranges. Saying it's $50 less with the same processor means bugger all. The one you linked could even have a better processor, yet be worse in performance and other things. You need to give facts otherwise it would be a wonderful world if we could buy a phone just by looking at which processor they use and then buy whichever is cheaper.

                  • -1

@bargainparker: Your whole paragraph implied that I was making it out to be a better buy. Never said it was and I never implied it. Just threw it in as an optional phone for folks that may be interested.

Up to folks to do their research. You just took it out of context, fair and square.

                    • @adrianhughes1998: When you say; So are the LeEcos floating around for 50 bucks less with same processor, you are implying it is a better buy since it costs $50 less and has the same processor. Others agreed with ruskiromka that it is a lot of phone for less than $200 based on already seeing the specifications. You just said, so are the LeEcos without any explanation as to why.

                      • -1

@bargainparker: "It is a lot of phone for less than $200" to which I replied with the LeEco. Never said it was better buy. Just said it was 50 bucks cheaper. You're putting words in my mouth. Build a bridge and get over it.

              • +1

@bargainparker: The one linked has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. No mention of screen resolution but it's probably 1080p.

I would pay the $50 for this one. Even has B28.

                • @lostn: I'd pay $50 too. Actually I'd buy a container, ship it here and make a killing :)

Are you guys kidding, this is a great buy.

Looks like a decent spec for the price and even includes B28 and B5 ( bonus for Vodafone/Kogan ). Wonder if this has some kind of Global Rom with Play Store and OTA updates?

Edit: I'll answer my own question for ROM,…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iFJFdIvO6A

    Pity about the colour :-(

    • +1

Can you answer your own question with a yes or no instead of linking to a video?

      • haha,…point taken :-)

Living up to your user name,…got a little lost lol

Seriously though, as I am not an expert on changing ROMs/rooting phones ( only done that fairly simple procedure on the Sharp S2 so far ), I was not so sure that you can for sure but looks promising and similar to the S2.

        I'll go with Yes then.

this phone ain't looking too sharp for 2018.

Show me a better phone for $173.

You are not the sharpest tool in the box.

The company seems to be asking for more info than necessary :

By reading this, i dont think anyone should buy from this company.

    • Plenty of bad reviews. I might avoid this seller.
      Anyone else selling this phone?

I got a faulty phone from Coolicool, and they seem to be just stalling in their replies, or not understanding English.
The phone has a bad power drain. 7 hrs max, even in "safe mode", and factory reset, no apps, no sim, no SD no wifi.

Would escalating a Paypal dispute help?
I'm getting very frustrated with them. Looking like it will take forever to get a replacement if at all, so I bought another phone elsewhere.
    Any chance of a refund?

What's strange to me is that the lower bezel has a physical home button and I presume two capacitive buttons on either side of it, but it still has a row of on screen buttons in the OS. Isn't that redundant?

I totally don't need it, but I'm quite tempted. Oh me.

Just looked at an unboxing video. It comes with a silicone back cover and a tempered glass screen protector in the box! Now that's generous. I know Z2 had the silicon cover, but I've never seen a phone come with a screen protector, particularly not glass. I just wish it came pre-applied because I always get dust under the protector when putting it on myself. The screen protectors you normally get that are pre-applied are intended to be removed and have logos on them.

Step one. Take the phone and screen out, put on the desk and have a shower. Minimises dust.

      Step two. Be naked.

Step three. Sit and stay very still, till you notice there is no dust floating around.

Step four, Moving very slowly attach the screen protector, slooooowlyyyy.

      Step five watch for bubbles.

Step six. In case of bubbles lift the SP till bubble is gonne, then continue till it is done.

      Step seven. Get dressed.

      • Haha,….funny but sort of makes sense.

      • If you leave it in the shower, there's going to be condensation on the screen? Also, after a shower, everything you touch fogs up.

How do you lift the protector up? With a piece of tape? What happens is residue from the tape gets stuck to the screen protector. This will only work at all on a standard protector. If it's tempered glass, you'll need to use a nail to wedge it off.

Also if there's a cover over the screen protector, you end up lifting the cover instead of the protector.

The really hard part is getting the protector aligned perfectly. If you start on one end, it might look aligned, but on the other end it is off and parts of it hang off the edge of the phone.

        • I'm lost, trying to find the way back.

          1. Only if your desk is in the shower.

          2. You hold it by the edge.

          3. "Also if there's a cover over the screen protector, you end up lifting the cover instead of the protector." No comment. I mean if you end up lifting the cover before you applied the SP, then you are doing something wrong.

          4. Always start from the longer side and always put it on the phone as it is before applying it, to see how it sits and give you better idea if it sits properly.

          5. As long as it's not your parts hanging off the edge, I am fine with that.

          • @bargainparker:

            1. Naturally it would have to be, otherwise what's the point in the shower? If you're not doing it inside the shower, then all the dust in your desk room is still going to go everywhere. There might be less dust on YOU, but there will still be dust in the air everywhere in your environment.

            2. Dust will get underneath the screen at the edges.

            3. Well yeah, you didn't adress the point I made about sticky residue getting stuck onto the screen protector which is very difficult to remove.

            4. The way I've always done it is to start with the short edge but not peel off the entire bottom cover before putting it on. I only peel off a little to start with until the SP makes contact with the screen, then peel off the rest as I lay the SP down. That minimises the time that the SP can come into contact with dust.

Placing the SP over the screen to see how it measures up first is generally a good idea first, but you're likely going to get dust onto the screen in doing so. Do you give it a wipe with a wet cloth first?

            1. That is dumb. If you don't place it straight, it might form a 10% angle with a significant portion of the SP off the edge, where dust will get inside.

Until they make anti static SPs and dust repellent glass, SPs are always going to be a pain to put on.

            • @lostn:

              1. Mine is in the living room. Just sit still for a while.

              2. If you go to a shop to do it, there will be even more dust, and by that we could assume there's no point going to a shop since you would end up with dust underneath. The fact is whenever you do it you have to make sure your hands are free of foreign material as much as possible or use gloves. You make as little movement as possible. Dust will settle after a while.

I have done it several times and as yet to get dust underneath the screen at the edges. Good lightning helps too, and steady hand.

              1. Never had a problem with sticky residue even after putting it on completely and lifting it up. I'd say it has more to do with the quality of the product rather than it being made that way, so you either put it on, or end up with a mess.

              2. Same except using longer side.

5.1. Yes wiping is important, that is a really good wipe. Not a good idea to just take the phone out and apply the SP. This should have been in step one

              • @bargainparker: I have to just gone and applied a tempered glass screen protector onto my new Galaxy Tab S4 10.5". Here's my findings.

                • You cannot correct dust under the screen. If there is dust, you're not getting it off.
                • If there is a small piece of dust, it will result in a much bigger bubble than it would on a standard SP.
                • It's very hard to push a bubble out compared to a thin SP. A credit card will not do the job.
                • I did not do the best job, but it was as good as I'm going to get. I could not get it aligned 100% even though I did it on the long edge first. The fact is, you can't take your time doing this. The longer you take, the more dust gets under the SP.
                • The SP hangs very slightly off. Normally that would be acceptable. But when I put it into the keyboard case which is clipped on at the corners, the corner that sits off the edge is getting pushed up, leaving a sizeable corner gap between screen and SP. Dust is already getting under there from this corner.
                • I pretty much need a new SP. This one was $8. I should probably go for thin SPs in future because they're cheaper to write off if you do a bad install.
                • @lostn: Do you have a really powerful torch? If yes, ever tried to see dust at night? it looks like rain. Yes dust is an enemy, but it can be minimised as much as possible. When you are home, you just need to make sure everything is closed, to minimise draft. maybe it would be a good idea to get a piece of glass or clear plastic and practice first, and watch YouTube. Doesn't have to fit the phone, it can be smaller than the phone. Most importantly, wait for dust to settle down. This is one thing where you need to take your time.

        • Alcohol hand wash makes for a good remover of dust on phone causing bubbles. Use a credit card to push residue out. Describing the technique in detail is too much effort.
