So 2100/900/850 3G and 2100/1800 4G. Not totally useless. You can also apparently make phone calls [not a given with tablets] so if anyone is suffering Note envy…

    No B28 though.

    • +1

Not sure why you got downvoted for stating a fact.

B28 is the most prevalent 4G frequency for Telstra (63% of sites) and Optus (83%) in Australia.

You can have coverage under B1 and B3, but even if we assume none of those overlap you will get suboptimal coverage with Telstra and Optus - and that's the parent company, not the resellers who might have even worse coverage. B5, the most prevalent band for vodafone (84% is also missing).

There will be others who have the actual device within Australia who can give a better idea of what kind of coverage they are getting, but if you are thinking of getting this because it has '4G LTE' you might be disappointed with it.

  • The last time I had this, it wouldn't receive sms (Vodafone)…

    • how do u make calls? does it have a dialer?

      • Yes, there is a dialer. I think it was working to call and using cellular data. Only, it wouldn't received sms. This was with Vodafone.

        • /Do u think it will work with Aldi or telstra sim?

Is this a good replacement for a 2013 nexus 7? I am not planning to stick a sim in

    • This is a very good tablet but you are unlikely to get any manufacturer updates (i.e. will be stuck on Android 6.0).

However it is possible to get LineageOS14.1 (based off Android 7.1.2) if you are OK with rooting the device.

      • You don't have to root the device

Will going to 7.1.2 cause any problems do you know? Purchased one in last sale but hasn't arrived yet. Purchased lenovo yoga book also which comes with 6.0 as well. Many problems apparently for those that upgraded to 7.1.2 on that device.
