Custom Triple Driver Earphones (IEM) - Unique Melody Aero for ~ $469 Includes Impressions & Del

110

I posted a reshell of earphones by Unique Melody here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38946

The Aero is their own product - a triple driver custom and it's on sale for a limited time. The normal price is around $650.

They've had great reviews on head-fi.org and they use Knowles Acoustic drivers. Choose any colour and if you want artwork, that's a little extra.

I'm still deciding on whether to get a reshell or the Aero.

      Bargain! :D

But seriously, as a comparison the Ultimate Ears triple driver model UE-7 is about $1200 normally.

From people who have bought Unique Melody at head-fi.org, they are really impressed with the build quality - very smooth and no bubbles in the acrylics. They are also tuned properly and you a receive a sound chart of the db reading of each frequency.

It's a great price for a triple driver custom.

The $2 earphones from Dealextreme are a bargain :p

same reasoning why a 13k hyundai is better than a 200k bmw or audi? some people have more cash to flash, just because you won't/can't buy it doesn't mean no one else can

You realise your Russel Peters comment went AGAINST what you were saying, right??

$200 discount seems pretty good, though you'd obviously have to be an audiophile to appreciate them.

If you can't afford or are not interested in such items then just move along. The street works both ways you know - not everyone is interested in cheap $2 made in China bargain-bin headphone specials.

The concept of value or a bargain is purely subjective - some might argue that buying the aforementioned $2 special would be far from a bargain because from their point of view they are a pure waste of money, whereas someone else may find them adequate.

  • My most expensive paid is UE TripleFi 10 bought from Logitech Shop during their promo.
These are probably better so thanks for the heads up but I don't think I can fork out that much.

i would rather see genuine value, on quality items rather than 100 free iphone apps, and cheap hdmi cables.

just because you don't want to spend $500 on enjoying your music doesn't mean there aren't those who are super excited about this deal.

    • I agree, i come to ozbargain for high quality, cheaper than normal stuff. Not just free/cheap plastic shit.

        I come for the free/cheap plastic shit…

        We should embrace multibargainism….

    • i would rather see genuine value, on quality items rather than 100 free iphone apps, and cheap hdmi cables.

fair enough, but quite a number of people here do like their iphone apps and hdmi cables too…

      • He never said that people don't like those deals, he just said that he'd rather see deals on quality items.

  • Well I think this site promotes competition which in the end benefits us the consumers… :)

  • Just an FYI to all - the site specifically mentions "not including impressions" - I'm not sure if there is a code or something to use at check-out, but the site seems to make that clear on this linked page above…

  • Hmm …
I've already got some $500 IE8's, how would these compare? Would these be worth buying?

  • -1

They'd probably blow your IE8's out of the water…
Just saying, these are good for the price, while IE8's can be had for $300 easy…

    • Yeah agreed…being customs as well, they should definitely sound better.

      @purplebangle - I hope your IE8s weren't fakes off ebay. :)

  • The Aero is $419 now :)

Not sure about how good is their Aero but I'm sure its at least as good if not better than IE8…

I used to have IE8…didn't like the fit or the sound (too much bass)… then sold IE8 a few weeks later for Westone Um3x. I thought damn, these um3x were really really nice…
1 year later um3x was playing up… got the um3x reshell by unique melody…and ordered Miracle too at the same time. Got them back this week….I can tell you that the Miracle is by far the best IEM I've ever heard….

I can vouch for Unique Melody Australia… If you want custom monitors they're definitely worth a try..

    • $419 is without impressions and delivery which is about $50.

Thanks for the info…I bet ur loving the Miracles…6 driver custom….drool

Did you hear they're designing a Merlin? They're a mixture of dynamic and BA drivers.

  • Bargain! going to order one now, thanks for the heads up!

  • +1

get it quick before Broden get them all

  • do they do a more bass heavy version? i'd like one of these, but more bass heavy rather than neutral.

i currently use super.fi 5EB's. it seems like once you go above this entry level nobody really caters to bass heads.

maybe a triple driver setup with 2 BA's and a dynamic driver is what i need? probably have to get a custom custom!

    • Flick them an email and see what they can do.

Not sure if they could reshell your SuperFi's and I've asked them about combining my Shure E2C (dynamic driver) with my TF10 (BA drivers) but they wouldn't attempt as it's too troublesome.

You could perhaps wait until the Merlin comes out (BA and dynamic driver custom) and see what it's like.

      • just googled the merlin…hmm, interesting. looks like that might be what i'm after…but i'll have to wait and see the price tag!

        cheers.

    • You can get them to use your 5EB and just add drivers to them. They do this service for other IEMS to make them 2-3 driver IEMS. Ask them for recommendations, they know which drivers have best synergy.
