    14TB yes sir!!

    • Had no idea that was out yet either!

    • Got the 14tb from Futu during the 20% off sale last week for $735.20. $744 is still not a bad price.

    • Seagate, no ma’am! ;)

That's stupid, no consumer needs that amount of space!

      • I know, right?! Just like how no one needs more than 640K of memory.

        • -1

The difference is RAM is actually required, where as most people just use an abundance of storage space to hoard unnecessary data.

    • That's a whole lot of data to lose in one go. Better get another for backup.

    Great first post

Already have 2 WD 4TB in a 4bay nas. Should I go with WD again or can mix with Seagate?

    • Generally speaking, as long as the drives are the same size and RPM, a NAS should be fine with different brands.

I could not have a 4 bay NAS and not instantly fill all bays.

      • +1

I agree… I am unfamiliar with this concept of empty bays hahaha.

      • And a cold spare of course

    • I've got a 4 bay NAS as well with a 4TB WD & a 4TB Seagate no issues - well except for getting low on space. I use 90% as a weekly backup and other 10% for movies.
Bought a 6TB Ironwolf yesterday to use as backup of backup with intent to add another 6TB later on, possibly another Ironwolf.

you can mix, but spend the extra four bucks for the WD…

Such a long wait to go over 4TB, and now its up to 14TB already

  • +2

The cheapest the IronWolf 8TB/6TB has been $271.15/$220.15, so cant justify it at these prices.

  • Still waiting on a good 6TB Ironwolf deal :(
