    • I prefer these to the Google Home minis. The aux out really helps improve its usage case.

    • I think the most Alexa is also the most popular for Home Assistant connections as you can connect without the cloud from memory

    • Looks like the deal is also at JB HiFi

    • Alexa works with Spotify and has complications with 3rd party apps such as uber, dominos, Qantas etc etc

    • Can someone sum up what the gen 3 does that the gen 2 doesn't?

      • gen 3 sounds way better (source: have both), other than that they’re functionally identical

        • Ok cool, functionality is all I'm fussed about so good to know, cheers.

    • These use batteries or have to be plugged in?

      • Need to be plugged in, however there are third party battery addons

        • Bugger

    • Bought it with the audible free Echo promo double dipping with the 2 for $99 promo (paid $20 over the $79 credit they applied to my account for the purpose of the promo )

Then called them 2 days ago to see if they can price match the 2 for $49 and they refunded me $20 so basically got 2 for the cost of 1 month subscription to audible ($14.99)

    • Not a deal when JB still have the promotion running https://www.jbhifi.com.au/amazon/amazon-echo-dot-with-alexa-…

    • Anyone know if these can connect to the same Yeelight smart bulb, which is already controlllable via google home
