Goliath XXL Cling Wrap 33cm X 600m $12.99 @ ALDI

490

I thought this deal was the cheapest you could get for cling wrap (2.21c per metre) until I saw this 600m monster. Works out to be 2.16c per metre.

On sale Saturday 15/12.

    2.16c per metre.

That pretty much wraps it up

    Good find

    • That's very punny.

    • Quality comment EC :)

    • Wrapped in plaaaaastic.

    • Plastic fantastic.

    • I wonder though, is a big roll going to last all 600m before the roll gets messed up somehow.

      • The only roll around here is an eye roll..

        • +1

I can't even walk 600m without totally messing something up.

  • +1

This would be a good buy too as 300 meters is large enough already.

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/18322/home…

    $6.75 for 300m everyday.

It is perfectly adequate, especially if you have some spare cutters from smaller packs.

    • The aldi one works well though how does the woolies one go?

      • -1

        "It is perfectly adequate"

  • +11

Typically the box falls apart well before you use this up

    • And heavy and hard to man/woman handle

    • +1

      Masking tape the corners.

    • +1

      Kids will do that too

    • Please use it to cover the foods, not your body.

      • or your bosses doorway

  • I find this to be very good quality.

    • Interesting - I am using Capri and find the Aldi cling wrap not “sticky” enough. So my experienceis exactly opposite. :)

      • Wet your fingers and moisten the outside rim of the container, the wrap will cling better.

  • Really should have this on special now. The fun I could have had a school with 600m of cling wrap.

    • Did you volunteer in the school canteen too?

Funny how the posts about plastic straws get heaps of negative votes, but posts about plastic cling film which cause all the cute little animals to suffocate don't seem to ruffle any feathers…

    • well played!

    • +2

Well that's because they're not ruffling feathers. They're suffocating wildlife.

    • dammit now you guilted me about playing a cling wrap gag on a work collegue

    • Thats because most people don't know how to care for the environment.

Its an emotional reaction based on what the TV tells them.

    • +2

That's because no one has told them to be outraged about cling film. Yet.

Plastic straws can help protect your teeth from sugar. A pack of 100 straws is 100 potentially sugary drinks not touching your teeth so much. Even if it leads to just one fewer cavity, I think going through 500 straws is worth it.

      • +2

I just don't drink sugary drinks, my teeth like it, same with my wallet and I don't get fat or have the need to use a straw!!

      • If you're drinking that many soft drinks, consider reusable straws, Eg the metal ones.

        • Fruit smoothies for breakfast, with tofu and protein powder. I like the thick IKEA straws.

think about where you would place this in ur kitchen before u buy

friend got the large one from Costco, but didn't fit in the draw, had to place them on the kitchen bench LOLZ

not sure how much the Costco one is, it was pretty cheap too and large

    • Had a similar problem with over-sized roll from Costco, although it technically could fit in the kitchen drawers, it couldn't be opened, nor lifted out without removing many other things.
Had to put up with that situation for about 3 years!

    • I think these are designed to be placed on the bench anyway.

    • Vertical.

  • how to store the rellies after that Christmas bustup……

  • You can get a better quality clingwrap from a wholesale food distributor for cheaper. Closer to $10 / Roll

  • Pic in advertising says 2c a metre… Maybe ask for a 99c discount at the counter?

  • +2

I purchased this last year, the quality is utter shite compared to the ones you can get from the Asian grocery stores/$2 shops.

It hardly clinged on anything, not even itself.. I found was I dusing double the amount just so I would use up the roll.

    • +1

Same experience. Returned back to Aldi.

  • +2

I find the Aldi cling film to be pretty crap - too flimsy and hard to tear off on the serrated edge of the box.

Unusual for Aldi as most of their stuff is usually pretty good.

    • +3

      Yup it's crap…

I bought it but couldn't return it as the threw away the box (took out the plastic wrap to use in a different box which had a sliding cutting strip).

      • Aldi one has the cutting slider.

        • You're correct, I think it did.. but the sliding cutting thing didn't cut for me so I swapped the boxes.

          • @JimB: Just bad luck. I don't have problem using it.

  • Could this be used to mummify a body? Asking for a friend..

    • Could, but it's see through.

      • not if the layers are thick enough

        friend's experience of course..

    • +3

      Soooooo…. you're into clingy mums.

    • You can cling wrap your friend.

      Then put oils all over.

      Kinky enuf?

  • I keep buying these every time the come on special. I currently have approximately 2.4km of glad wrap in the cupboard.

    • +1

just get enough to cover your way to work.. and then you can 'glide' to work.

  • perfect length to wrap someone to a light pole

  • Went to buy this last time it was available and compared prices with their normal everyday size rolls surprisingly they were the same price per meter. In fact 300m was $6.49 on 30 Jun 2018 .0017 cents cheaper per meter than this present offer.

  • Great for wrapping your presents if you want to be transparent what you got them!

  • How many cars can I wrap with this?

    • Prolly 100.

  • Wow I've never seen condoms so cheap. Thanks OP, this is going to do wonders for my monthly budget. 💩

    • +1

boy you must be active. 600m in a month

      • or highly contagious.
