PRIZER

With the current PRIZER discount this awesome monitor comes in at $1111.20. Not the absolute cheapest it has been, but pretty close to. It is a few years old now but I am not sure if there is anything better quality and value wise in the Ultrawide gaming category of monitors.

Acer X34P is around this price every now and then too but capable of running 120hz instead.

That Acer series suffers from very inconsistent build quality tho.

    • Tend to agree - the x34p is the better buy IMO. Newer panel and capable of higher Hz at a similar price point. I prefer the design of the equivalent Alienware but that seems to trade at a significant premium.

    $1k & not even 120hz

      Cause 100 to 120hz is so noticeable…

      • -1

The 1k price tag and the features missing is very noticeable.

        • 3440, 100hz, IPS, GSync.

What's missing??? It's been around years.

100hz to 120hz is such a non issue.

Every time I see a deal posted from futu:

That's basically 5% off from RRP.

  • Also worth mentioning 1440p

    • 1440p is great, isn’t it?

      • +3

yeah, current sweet spot. higher fps than 4k and prettier than 1080p

  • fwiw a few months ago I bought the asus mx34v, a similarly specc'd version for $800 + $100 egift card. 100Hz and freesync.

    • G-Sync module costs money. Free sync doesn't.

      • Adaptive sync doesn't see to be all that required since AMD and nvidia have their Enhanced Sync modes. Works great even on my old 7970 and no more tearing. Considering Freesync has become part of the Vesa standard we will surely see nvidia switch it on in their drivers.

This modern version of the VHS beta wars has held back higher refresh rate large monitors for quite a while now.

    • G-sync is a hardware implementation and costs money especially cos you have to license it from Nvidia.

Freesync is a software implementation that I'm pretty sure AMD lets people use for free which is why you see it on every cheap monitor.

  • Damn. For a second there I thought there were only three 1s in that price.

  • around $12 Cheaper from Computer Alliance with the 10% off plus save an extra 5% using ebay giftcards and then 1% cashback with cash rewards. works out to be like ~$1035
