  • Can you stack this with the Groupon credit? I didn’t think you could use two codes on one order…

    • +1

      I wasn't able to.
It only offers option to change the promo code used.

  • Doesnt stack with groupon code

  • -2

Don't forget to stack with Amex and Cashback ya'll alcoholics 🍺

    • As usual… code not on CashRewards site, so unlikely will be eligible for Cashback.

Also, Cashback may be ineligible when used in conjunction with payment by a Groupon Boozebud voucher or other third party promotional offers & vouchers.

      • +1

        worth a try?

        • It tracks, but up to Boozebud much later if they agree to Cashback. I didn't get any.

  • +1

    TEds's 3x cartons $76.07 delivered :-)
    That's $25.35 each :-)

    • +11

      still overpriced ;)

    • I bought 3 cartons for the same price from BWS a few years ago. Threw out a carton because it tasted gross.

    • Its cheap

  • +1

You're better off with the Groupon code then:

    https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/boozebud-4

    • -1

I used that last month. New customers only although from memory it wasn't checked. It was "stackable" with an automatic $25 off $100 discount then.

    • New accounts only…

Could buy $50 credit today with Groupon via ShopBack for $10 - $1 with code FUN10 - $1.35 cashback.
But will have to pay for delivery (around $6-11).

get $25 off & free delivery with Bud25
But then can't use existing credit if have another account…

      • Can't stack codes. Can't use Groupon credit any codes.
On the last deal, using the Groupon credit, but paying freight, was less than $3 difference than using the minimum spend code at the time.
O used the Groupon credit, cause $3 is still $3….but totally didn't feel like I got the best value.

        • +2

Can't stack any codes was outlined earlier…

Savings depend on your circumstances (your shipping cost & deal offered)
WA is dearer shipping ($10-12), which explains your lower savings using the Groupon Voucher over a free delivery code!
Maybe check the fine print of Groupon deals - they may not be such an attractive offer for some :-(

I made 2 identical orders of Whiskey, during the popular 20% off & free delivery using code SAVE20 deal.
Boozebud automatically gave 10% off both $100+ spirits, before the 20% discount if using the code.

From the Invoices… (Price at DM $129 + delivery)
Price using SAVE20 code: $89.24 (I also got an additional discount from earlier order)

Price using Groupon Voucher code: $70.02 (included $6.89 delivery to Brisbane) + $10 for voucher = $80.02
          So $9.22 (10%) saving.
If I'd used the $25 off & free delivery code (25BUD) the price would have been $88.13!
A $1.11 saving. Both these options required a new account.

Groupon $50 vouchers are discounted to $7.65 today with ShopBack cashback, & have been $5. Bought another at $5.
          That slightly increases the savings.

Better to stack with AMEX offer. I ordered 2x cartons of corona 1x carton of VB and a bottle of red wine for $74.22 😊. Ordered them last Sat and I have them deilivered today Sunday.

    • -1

Why not do both? Spend $100 after $25 discount and you will get $30 cashback. Assuming after discount you spend $100 even, your end cost is $70 for $125 spend. So basically, if you spent $26 more tonight than you spent last night, it would only cost you $1 more.

      • +3

My brain got fried reading your comment but then again i'm drinking booze 🍺

      • I think stacked meant he did both.

  • Anyone know end date of promo?
Great deals / Shame not stackable with cashrewards / a little slow to deliver to vic but so cheap, happy to wait.

  • How's the delivery lately?

    • +1

I'll let you know how the delivery is when i eventually receive my parcel…

      • +1

Complain and get some free credit

        • +1

I don't mind waiting because of the low prices but i do hope the order eventually arrives :)

          • @Chocobros: I was serious. I was the same but enquired during the rush as I was somewhat concerned my order had been overlooked - other later orders had been sent. They gave me $35 credit.

        • +1

I did this as I've been waiting since the 26th, they said they'd add credit then just … didn't.

Not a great look so far.

Ordered mine on the 25th November and took 2 weeks to Melbourne.

      • +1

I ordered 4 items on the 24th of November and still waiting on a final carton. I logged a ticket and they suggest it could be ‘lost in transit’
i.e. AusPost worker got a free slab for xmas

    • I ordered start of the month and got my carton of beer and three bottles of wine this weekend just gone. I thought it would take a couple weeks so I wasn't too concerned. If I ordered now I wouldn't expect it before Christmas but you never know.

  • +2

Have ordered twice from these guys so far. Slower shipping is no stress if the prices are good :)

  • +1

Ordered. Should arrive in time for Xmas 2019

    • Hopefully before the next decade!

  • Recently ordered a 24 slab of a 6.2% abv dark ale. $90 normal price and becomes affordable after discounts and free shipping.

Missed items in order with groupon deal and no response to date…

    • +4

Not understanding the Negs, I raised the issue with missing items and their only response so far has been:

"Thank you for contacting BoozeBud. Sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. I saw your order has been delivered!

We hope you shop with us again!
      Enjoy your booze!"

      • +2

Slow post, copy and paste customer service and someone else saying they promised a credit which they never gave. Yeah, I don't get the downvotes for someone relating their experience either.

        • +1

Wasn't too happy with their automated response so I ended up sending some pics and advised i may commence dispute through my card company. Recieved an actual reply just now.

  • -1

Does everyone just make multiple accounts to qualify as new customer each time? How strictly are they monitoring this?

    • +1

No need - confirmed this is for existing accounts. That's why OP discussed using credit from previous orders.

      • He is probably asking for the groupon voucher. It is much better discount if you create new account and buy the code from groupon. $41 off $100 is a lot better than $25 off $100

        • Have to pay shipping as I discussed above with examples of actual orders, which may not be such a great deal after buying voucher as well.

Extra effort for only a few dollars saved. I missed out on stock while I bought Groupon & set up new account.

          • +1

            @INFIDEL:

Have to pay shipping as I discussed above with examples of actual orders, which may not be such a great deal after buying voucher as well.

            https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/60750/64977/untitled.p…

I bought on thursday, didnt have to pay shipping.

Also you are comparing % base discount vs flat off amount discount, of course the more you spend the better the percentage base discount will be. Though even in your case, groupon method is still $8.11 cheaper than 25% off + free shipping.

Extra effort for only a few dollars saved. I missed out on stock while I bought Groupon & set up new account.

A professional ozbargainer alcoholic would have stock up on coupons and make accounts in advance and wait to snatch up stock.

            • @highdealer: As I said - Savings depend on your circumstances (your shipping cost & deal offered)
Sometimes there is offer of free shipping - without entering a code (saving up to $12 in shipping cost), BUT not now.

So current BB offers & shipping cost needs to be taken into account.
Choose your offers for maximum savings - as you did with free shipping.
In the BB offer I took up, there was 10% off spirits over $100 - that saving was twice the shipping cost paid.

I was responding to albanyson who seemed annoyed at the $40 they expected to save only ending up being $3.

If $10 is paid for the Groupon Voucher, the maximum value of the Voucher is $15 more than that (less shipping cost of up to $12). As, BB offers all new accounts $25 off $100 & free shipping - which can't be claimed if using Groupon Voucher.

I don't drink much, so did not plan buying from BB. Have a $50 Groupon waiting now - bought for $5.

I did quite a few accounts previously and they cottoned on eventually. But I think I got five or six orders away first.

      • What did they do when they cottoned on?

        • Asked me to pay back the new account discount or they would cancel the order. Opted to cancel the order.

          • @pdtmathieson: And they refund you right? Did you make new account using the same name? I mean if you keep making account with your family member they can't possibly know right?

            • @highdealer: Yes I got a refund.

Delivery address was what got me, I had it delivered to a couple of locations but obviously that runs out pretty quickly. If you make accounts 'on behalf of' another person and get it delivered to their place, I don't think they would work you out. Especially at this time of year, not sure they would have the time to look into it.

              • @pdtmathieson: Think it's a pity retailers don't charge a large admin fee for people found to be rorting special offers myself. Companies have a certain amount of money to invest in promotions etc. Abuse means fewer and/or shorter deals and fewer people being able to take advantage of offers.

      • +1

Can confirm, it does. Did this today on boxing day, spent $70.42 by using 10% off boxing day sale they had, and also the $50 voucher thing from Groupon, and received the special boxing day 12% cashback using Shopback and got $8.45!!! Great discounts would highly recommend!!

  • used this with the $30 statement credit from Amex. Got a double black, green label and 6 pack cider for $77. the free shipping was a great bonus.

Not sure how much profit boozebud is making, but i'll stock up while it lasts :)

Less than $25 a bottle delivered for JW Red- can't complain about that- no comments from expensive single malt wonkers please.

  • My order took around 2.5 weeks as well, but expiry dates (beer) are mid 2019 so not too bad. You won't get this order before Christmas day though.

    • I ordered some spirits last Thursday and they're due for delivery today/tomorrow.. so unlikely, but not impossible ;)

      • yep.. arrived today
So Thursday night order, Monday delivery

        its possible ;)

    • 6 month old IPA bottles would be disastrous though

  • My last order took 11 days to Brisbane

  • +1

Sneaky website - you can't get a final price/enter coupon without filling out CC details AND agreeing to get spammed by them.

    • Yeah, I didn't like that part too.

      • It's a very basic website agreed but they're a small company using their own money to try to expand. EG logout is almost impossible to find. I posted a link in a previous BB deal which gave some background for people like me who might have been a bit worried about their bona fides. Can't speak for others but I've only received order advice and responses to my queries from them to date.

  • +1

I'm impressed by how quickly CashRewards send the confirmation on BoozeBud sales- 5 minutes. Then you wait 95 days for the money. Oh well.

    • That tracking only confirms you bought through the CR website, not that you will get Cashback. Cashback is up to BB, which is the cause of delay (includes time for returns or order disputes). So don't count on the money, as BB has already given their discount with the code.

Strangely, CR is only Cashback site listed offering cash back now! ShopBack also offers 7.5% & PricePal gives me 9%. ShopBack is strictest about not accepting unlisted codes: Cashback is not qualified for - Promo codes or voucher codes not approved by ShopBack. Other sites usually don't give Cashback if code isn't listed on their site.

      • I've usually got CR when purchasing using referral codes on Boozebud

      • Didn't get a tracking email from Pricepal. Got tracking email from Cashrewards, but will see if they pay out. Didn't bother trying with Shopback.

  • A lot of the delay to WA is Austpost when tracking I could see it sat in areas 2-3 days before moving even sat in
local depot 3 days as the delivery van was full and my delivery guy said amazon parcels had priority !!!

    • Now that Amazon with Prime gives free Expedited shipping, that gets priority over BB Standard parcels & increases delivery load. (I now get my Coke delivered fast & cheaper, rather than go to shops. That kind of order will clog the AP delivery system!)

And these slabs of beer etc can be heavy & bottles fragile, requiring different treatment to another Google Home Mini etc.

Had my delivery sit in Sydney for a week after processing end of last month - there was a major bottleneck in delivery system due to huge number of orders (due to attractive discounting).

It's peak delivery season, so delays will occur.

  • Be prepared to have the wrong order sent to you, this company is notorious for it.

    • +1

I just completed my first order and expecting 3 bottles of whiskey to be delivered - got a 6 pack of beer instead!

Raised a ticket and no one has got back to me, just some stupid auto-response. Stayed home most of the day waiting for the courier to arrive as well, really bad customer experience.

    • I hope so.

    • LOL I ordered a 6-pack of juice and received a 6-pack of VB Gold which is probably worth 2-3x more. Not complaining, but I feel sorry for whichever poor sod ended up getting my juice instead of their beer.

I've raised a help request with BoozeBud just to do the right thing, but I don't think they're gonna ask me to send them back - would end up costing them more than the beer to rectify the situation probably.

  • Personal experienc: it took nearly 2 weeks for them to advise an item ordered is out of stock. It normally wouldn't be a big deal, but I've now missed ordering elsewhere to guarantee delivery by Xmas. Not impressed so far.

  • +1

I've had no problems with Boozebud after approx 6 orders to VIC. 2 orders did sit for at least a week, before I sent an email to query. They apologised, gave a credit of $15 for each, and next day I received tracking comms. Pretty good customer service.

Been stocking up with cases of NEIPA and IPA's with around 6-8.5% ABV for about $50-$60 a case combining credits, codes and AMEX offers. Very happy with the prices!

On another note, I've been unticking authority to leave unattended on all my orders so when I'm not home it goes to my LPO. Can't send to work as it's not boxed discreetly. Been feeling sorry for the LPO lady as she's received a number of my cases and see her struggle to carry the >10kg cases out from the back to the counter.

I've just made a change to my most recent orders to send to a Parcel Locker to stop it needing to go to my LPO. Has anyone that uses Parcel Locker ever had any problems with Boozebud (AusPost) deliveries to there?

    • +1

So got my booze delivered to my Parcel Locker today without a hitch… Happy days!

Got a couple more coming to Parcel Locker, glad I opted for this delivery method.

      • Which NEIPA's have you tried/recommend?

        • +1

I got the Pirate Life Brewing Unfazed by the Haze. Although, I much preferred the Pirate Life Brewing IPA. Can't recommend any other NEIPA's as I mostly got IPA's. I love Bentspoke Sprocket IPA, that's currently my favourite!

          • +1

@AnDyStYLe: Went to Canberra over Xmas and to Bentspoke, amazing stuff there.

  • +2

From the Black Friday sale I think it took ~10 days for me to receive my 3x cases. After 6 days I sent an email questioning why there was no progress and was given a $15 credit.

The day i received the cases I decided to order a case of something else with the credit. That took around 4 days I think it was to arrive. Much better turnaround when they didnt have a huge sale.

For these prices you cant really do better IMO. But if it's urgent you should look elsewhere. You cant be certain when they will arrive. The order I placed today has a window of Dec 19 to 24. But if it arrived after Xmas I would be happy still. 3 cases for less than 2 at Dan Murphys. But i have a few cases already. This is just a bargain that I couldnt pass up.

  • At checkout it gave me the option to get it delivered tonight 6-10pm by StarTrack for free. What do you think my chances of it coming are?

    • Possible if you're close to their warehouse

    • +1

update Was just delivered! 3 cases of Carona for $92.64 delivered same day. Winning!!!

      • +1

You win the jackpot without doubt. Merry Xmas!

Edit: wait a mo, Wholistic below trumps you with his free case of pre-mixed whisky in a can.

  • Well one of my 3 cases arrived today and Australia Post has the other 2 packages as arriving tomorrow. They really stepped up since the Black Friday sales.

  • Received a slab of dark ale 3 business days after ordering. No complaints.

  • +2

I was sent the wrong item 24 cans of mixed whisky instead of 36 bottles of ginger beer.

I took a photo of the mistake at the post office and emailed it to the confirmation email they sent. They shipped out my actual order the next day, arrived less than a week later and said I could keep the whisky.

    I’d use them again!

    • Lol…and hope for another stuff up?
