I thought this had a good camera :/ considering the 3i personally

    • 3i has micro usb, is that means older model?

    • camera is fine by day, but you'll see the difference with bad lighting.

Huawei is way to go if you dont want to get spied by the nanny state.

  • Spend a bit more and get the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite haha

"…but it would be a great phone for teenagers and grandparents."

At 34 I use this phone and love it

I'm consistently baffled why people feel the need to blow a grand plus on a 'flagship' device only to use their phone to make phone calls, browse the internet, send messages, and perhaps play the odd mobile game. Things a phone like this can handle without breaking a sweat and for $700 less (plus it has a headphone jack)

Edit: This is a pretty good price nonetheless, I got mine for about $350 a few months back

    • Hey Funk44, I'm looking at getting this for my wife. How's the camera on it? We've got a little one on the way early April and she wants to be able to take photos of the bub with it :) TIA

Great phone and even better price. For me the real show stopper is - no NFC. Have gone on to other options so that parents could have the card on the phone and that way don’t need to carry anything else when they’re out.

These days what makes a high end phone is the camera, the difference between this phone and the Mate 20 pro is huge. I've played with the mate 20 pro camera and its superb, I've seen photos taken with this phone and they are ok when taken during the day and bad with night shots.

As a parent the camera is very important, i want to be able to take nice shots of the kids, not fussed by the performance as most phones do the same job but camera is where the money is.

From looking at the photos taken by this phone on google, it doesn't come close to the google pixels, mate pros, iphone Xs etc…

    • I'm the same. Young 40 year old, always on the phone, and this suits me. Yeah, the camera maybe isn't the same as an S9, but it's also a sub $400 phone on release.
I paid $388 in May when my last bricked itself while I was away. Sadly, I paid full retail. For $280
It's a good phone, good price

  • How is it compare to OPPO AX5 & OPPO A3S?

  • I bought this at their last 20% off sale. Happy with it with one exception of the calendar doubling up with my google calendar. Barely used the camera. Good screen, speaker is loud, you can choose between notch or no notch. Fingerprint sensor I find is a bit hit or miss, but that's probably me. Oh, mid 40 year old, not a grand parent. lol Oh don't forget cashback.

    • I've had problems with fingerprint readers on other phones (incl. iPhone) and this phone absolutely nails it for me. I've also enabled a notification tray gesture with a downward slide on the scanner, which is neat.

Camera is definitely a weak point, but it doesn't bother me. Screen and general build are awesome. It's not flagship fast, but close enough for me and that's probably the trade off for great battery life.

  • Can anyone confirm if it has B28?
    Found conflicting comments online.

Everything else looks good for my needs, but I live in rural Vic.

    • I thought it didn't have B28 after checking a website a while ago. But someone replied and told me it did. I have no idea about the authenticity of either that person's claim nor the website that I used. Maybe give the Good Guys or JB Hi Fi a call and see if they know. Sorry I can't be much help.

  • I am unable to use the PTGGS20 code at EBAY checkout. Anyone else having the same problem?

    • Mine went through at 11:19

  • Does it have nfc?
