  • What is the RRP?

  • I'm pretty sure RRP is $1700+

I bought this kit from JB for $1500 a few weeks ago, after the earthquake in Japan prices went back up.

Cheaper at DDP - $1525 (genuine Australian stock)

    • can you guarantee that its not a grey import from DDP?

  • +1
    • oh nice!

    • i'll be impressed if anyone can get just the camera and lens for $1400, i.e. without buying insurance which is obviously where JB makes their profit :)

i see that turning into a similar case to my $50 GT5 receipt scan bargain…. (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/34967)

      • I'm going to go and give it a try :) Been looking at this camera for a few months now. Will report back!

      • Well they are honoring that receipt!

I replaced the card with a tripod and added a memory card reader.. $1620!

        • only because you added lots of overpriced stuff on top. e.g. that filter you paid $40 for is only worth $10

seems jb will "price match" the $1400 only if it can make up the profit on other items

        • +1

shrugs I'll happily pay an extra $30 if it means i get $200 off the final price.

  • Just so you guys know, the kit lens is …kind of shit. May be worth looking at a body only and getting a proper lens.

    • agreed but at $100 its a half decent walker.

    • The kit lens is not like that 24-70 or any prime lens in that range.
But for $400, it fits the purpose of a kit lens.

In a studio, we tested it against the pro glass using a 8x10 print [24-70, 70-200 VR I and 85/1.4 D] and it was very hard to differentiate at f/8.

  • Wow nice price… I bought mine at launch for $1887. Great camera + great kit lens.
