What has been the worst deal you have seen/sneered at on OzBargain in the 2018 year?

Following on from the discussion about the best deal you have seen or scored, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/426559

What are the worst deals you have come across this year on OzBargain? A lot of them have probably been deleted or flown under the radar because of too few upvotes.

What is the worst reaction from a store rep you have seen, or the best reaction from a store rep trying to make the situation right?

This really isn't a deal but i really hate seeing price jacking during ebay sales.

The employee from Apu's World not writing "thank you, come again". Surely that's a store policy.

Some of the most neg'd deals from past few months:

August Online DIY Express Tax Return $29 (Was $49) @ One Click Tax
September Trend Micro Home Network Security (Black Box + 24 Month Subs) $269 @ NSH
    October Unlimited Talk/Text/100m Int. Calls/4GB $30/Month, 300m Int. Calls/10GB $35/Month, 20GB $40/Month, $49 One Off Fee @ Up. Mobile
November Bushranger 73X07/A Folding Bush Saw, Orange/Silver for $27.50 + Shipping @ Amazon
    December Painless Nail Clipper for Dogs & Cats USD $5.99 (~AU $8.19, Was USD $30, Save 80%) @ professional-australia.com

Some of the really bad ones were unpublished, usually by request of the poster. The October one is probably the worst one I've seen as it requires you to pony up a $49 upfront fee before you start paying for the actual mobile plan.

I hate all of the Amazon food deals where it's just the same price as the supermarket but you have to pay delivery or Prime subscription.
Seen at least half a dozen.

Until you factor in cashback and it works out cheaper.

      • Because at today's cashback rate it would be cheaper than the usual supermarket price by 10c.

Then again those opposed to cashback usually don't know how to use it properly. Not saying you don't however 😉

Whenever there's a $1 Large Sundae deal at Maccas they give me one with a big hole in the middle. It makes me feel like they did this on purpose or because it is a $1 deal. Why do they do that? When the ice cream content is the same as a small sundae :(

His latest ban is finally up, can't wait for him to post another deal. He was paying to promote his tweets on Twitter a month or so ago.

Anything Harvey Norman, I don't care how cheap it is. I loathe supporting anything related to Gerry Harvey.

  • The time e-Solar had a bad day, then went a little schizophrenic.
