  I got a $168 PSP 3002 yesterday.

  It has system software 5.02

  Should I upgrade the software or not?

    Don't update. I just got a psp go and modded it. Its very very easy.

      I got it from Dick Smith - brand new and sealed but looked like it had been there a while.

      They price matched Harvey Norman

      Thanks for the link but those 2 pieces of software require you to upgrade to OS 6.2 or 6.35 before you install them.

      I am getting the feeling from other posts (without knowing WTF I am doing) that I shouldn't install the newer OS and should stay on 5.02
