LG 65" B8 4K OLED TV $2799 + Delivery @ David Jones

660

Keeping in mind how a lot of people were screwed over by David Jones from one of my previous deals, I am putting out a fair warning to anyone who is looking to place an order this time!

Might be worthwhile price matching elsewhere and buying this TV.

  • If you can snag 10% gift cards from Entertainment Book, you get it cheaper… But I don't believe it can be combined with cashback sites.

  • Less risky (in case David Jones f*** up again) to just combine with 10% cashback via Shopback which brings the cost of the tv close to $2500!

Easily beats the previous lowest price from Appliance Central by $400 or more, when combined with cashback.

They also have the 2017 Panasonic TH-65EZ1000U for $3499

  • You should probably put that it's for the 65 inch model in the title. Good price though!

My bad! I knew I forgot something! :)

  • The c8 is discontinued and probably a big part as to why people had orders cancelled. Should have better luck with the B8.

With gift cards that's amazingly good value!

Why is the C8 discontinued? Or just a new one coming ?

    • +3

Discontinued according to who? LG certainly haven't discontinued it?

      • Not officially. More than one store (including Video Pro) over the last month has commented that LG will not provide them with any further shipments at the moment. As we are heading into 2019 its fairly obvious the C8 must be done in Aus due to stock shortages and they are using the B8 to meet demand. Same thing happened with Sonys x930e and x900e lines last year.

        • Same thing happened with c7 phasing out to b7 last year. Kinda of considering they're sold generally at the same price point

      • Check on Whirlpool. A few staff from various retailers have noted their systems have (DISCOUNTINUED) next to the C8 now.

        • Nice to know, that means any C8s on sale during boxing day are the last.

        • Cheers. I better jump on C8 soon then.

    Finally below $3k! Nice one.

No delivery to my Sydney address!

  • Is it 65B8STB?

  • Lesson to self - bought this Panasonic a year ago for $5350 (delivered to Tas from Videopro) thinking they're bound to sell it sometime in the next 2 years for less and I can claim it on my Coles Mastercard price protection. Nope, and now they don't deliver to Tas.

If 28 Degrees credit card had introduced their 'any store price protection' policy back then and I'd used that I could claim (might be a limit on the amount though).

    • Will pp usually cover this as technology always decreases in value with time?

      • That's the beauty of it. The Coles is 2 years, but same store. The 28 Degrees is 1 year, ANY store.

    • Every year new models are released tho..

  • No Delivery to Canberra

To those who don't know, the differences between this B8 and the C8 is the processor. The B8 processor is from last year.

    Details can be had here

  • Looks like sold out

  • This is a quite good price for OLED TV. Based on Rtings etc, B8 is a good buy since you get same picture quality of C8 but less powerful chip.

    • if you're not using the smart features, it will be fine. otherwise, pretty laggy!

      • Have no lag issues with my c7. Supposedly shame chip.

Phew, lucky it's sold out. My credit card bill thanks all of you who got in before me.

  • I'm hoping for a c8 deal for any that are left on boxing day

  • Anyone picked up our had their order delivered yet?

  • Guys, only now I see this post :(
Did you end getting the TV for this actual price?
It’s all back to $3000+ nowadays
