amazing how the $99 watch has sapphire but the $299 one has mineral

    • +1

Hardlex crystal*, which is not as brittle as sapphire but better scratch resistant than mineral.

  • +1

Hmmm… that will scratch a lot.

    • +1

you don’t want brittle on divers watch …better scratched than broken and leaking water.

  • +1

    The temptation is real!

  • Sorry. Ignore my previous comment. I just had to compare my other prospex and swiss ones with sapphire glass. 0 scratches on my prospex, about two on my entry swiss watches.

  • +10

Do you only post watch deals because you're some kind of "watch expert" ?? Or just doing it for the upvotes? (before ya'll report/neg me, it's an inside joke, read the link.)

    • +2

      Lol

    • -7

Probably both. Once he asked me why I stopped voting on his deals because i didn't upvote one of his posts.

      • +3

        Probably both.

Would you link to any comment from Member WatchNerd implying he is some kind of "watch expert" please?

        • -8

disagrees with anyone against him, and accuses them of "not knowing what they're talking about". even the username "watchnerd" you'd expect him to be watch expert.

          • +2

            @Savas:

… and accuses them of "not knowing what they're talking about".

General life advice neither claims nor implies expertise.

Expectations are not links. Usernames are not claims. When he was usernamed 28Degrees his shape was normal. And scotty is neither Scottish nor a thespian. No pressure, just take your time and find that link.

          • +4

@Savas: Your link doesn't quite support your cliam, it points to more of an observation than an accusation.

Can't you find a thread you can add something to, rather than ill-founded negativity, vague aspersions and claims your proctologist found for you?

    • +1

You forgot to mention the kickbacks.

  • +1

Regretting not jumping on the pepsi samurais last time. Will bite if it gets to 299 again.

  • -7

Such a rip off of a Seamaster it's not funny.

    • -5

Gold! Sadly hardly anyone in this thread would even know what a Seamaster is.

      I'm loving this one

      • -1

I am after a omega constellation. Any decent Australian site you would recommend for buying?

        • +1

Go AD, or if you go grey market, the saving will pay for a service or repairs if required. As far as I know, Omega now controls their inventory of spare parts.

    • toning like a sea master ….i own a sea master and it’s very different shape.

  • +5

Jesus Christ. I may as well preemptively sign the divorce papers now… Been lusting after that samurai for a while now

    • +7

      It's a Seiko, it's a Prospex, it's automatic and it's beautiful. Sign the papers.

    • I bought it last time it was on sale (albeit for more) and I don't regret my choice, I keep it for more special occasions and absolutely love it

  • Heart nearly skipped a beat thinking it was the blue lagoon.

How does the movement on this watch compare to an Orient Mako USA II?

    • ewwww a 4R35 movement.

      • What's wrong with the 4R35?

        • +1

Not knocking the Samurai for its aesthetics and build quality. It is definitely a beautiful watch. I just think on such a timeless design, Seiko should have given the Samurai a better movement.

    • Oh could you imagine. Love Blue Lagoons

      • I know right? If the price was right, I'd be willing to pay a premium for the 4R35 movement just to get the LBL Samurai and the Dawn Grey Turtle.

    • +1

not real happy with my mako accuracy.

      • mods it is then

  • +3

Amazing price for the blue samurai! I bought one for $329 a few months back, this is even better deal!

  • -7

Excellent price for the Citizen Eco-Drive White AU1080-20A which is currently listed for $325 by Citizen Australia

  • I have been hanging out for the black sumurai.

I should have got it last time it was on sale

  • Still cannot believe Seiko moved the Monster to the midrange. They're going to get killed by Swiss made watches like Tissot and microbands.

    • +2

Yeah they've been a bit cheeky with the price increases. Like you said if they want to compete in that bracket they need to be more generous with the mid range movements + improve QC

      • +1

Agreed about the QC issues. There's been so many cases of misaligned bezels. Seiko does not give a rat's ass unless you own a Grand Seiko, Credor or Astron.

    • +3

Other than being a steel diver this looks nothing like a Rolex.

    • buy invicta, great rolex homage and keeps good time.

      • -1

plz don't buy an invicta. their most popular diver looks so cheap in person

  • What’s a good quality Citizen Eco-Drive that has a white face, metal band, and is for a female . Want definitely waterproof

  • +3

Thanks! Got the 20A. Been waiting a while for it to go on sale again.

    • By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of this inexpensive exquisite horological masterpiece. ® © ™

  • Would they be able to deliver on Thursday if I buy today?

  • Ahhh, still waiting for the Save the Ocean Samurai to go even lower, $499 been the lowest it's been so far? Holding out for a bit more.

  • I look away from ozbargain for 1 day and miss the samurai, of course that happens.

  • Prices on Citizens don't appear to be as decent as some of the earlier OzBargain exclusive deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/410098

  • -4

This seems to be a great price for a much nicer watch and a good intro brand into Swiss watches.

    https://www.authenticwatches.com/oris-carlos-coste-743770971…

    • +1

      Holiday sale price US $1575.00

Not really a fair comprison when it’s more than 7 times the price.

      • Not really comparing, just showing a nice deal for a good entry level Oris for those wanting to spend more…

I'd rather one Oris than 5-7 "OZB watches"

        • +2

          a much nicer watch
          Not really comparing

  • OP can you confirm the crystal type on the SRPC79J? Page says acrylic but similar watches you have listed say sapphire.

    • It's hardlex, which is Seikos improved version of a mineral crystal.

    • +1

Hi there. The glass is curved sapphire. Thanks

  • Back in stock, but price is back to $469.
Was gonna ask for raincheck or honor??
