Eneloops, the official currency of OZbargainers.

    • Eneloop Pros are where it's at =)

  • +3

$29.50 pick up for the smart and quick charger + 4AAs is really good value. (not to be confused with the cheap dumb/slower version)

    • whats the difference between the chargers?
I have eneloop charger - how can i tell if its the smart/quick one or the dumb/slow one?

      • +4

Easiest way to find out would be to Google the model number on your charger. It's normally on the front and will be something like BQ-CCxx.

This page may also help: https://eneloop101.com/charge/eneloop-chargers/

In a nutshell, a dumb charger will just charge a set number of mA for a pre-set time without doing any kind of battery analysis (and therefore increase the chances of overcharging when the battery is already full). Smart chargers will monitor battery voltage and shut off when they detect that the battery is at maximum charge.

        • thanks sir. mine is dumb so i bought this one! cheers

  • +3

I suppose amazon price match should be incoming soon

  • +2

When I entered my address for shipping, I got:

    Ships within 1—357 Days.$15

    Hmm! No, thanks.

    • +10

Seems like a pretty wide delivery time target… Hopefully you get it before next Christmas.

    • +2

      Order, forget… Surprise!

    • +2

I was planning to order these until they decided to charge me 21.00 for standard delivery, it pretty much made the 50% off redundant, what a ripoff.

  • Perfect timing for kids presents

  • My energizer pro charger just died. Exactly 1 year after I got it. Was just looking for replacement and this came up. Perfect :) Thank you

  • just what i wanted for christmas!

  • Can I use the K-KJ55MCC4TA charger to charge the AA pro BK-3HCCE4BT and AAA pro BK-4HCCE4BT batteries?

    • -3

      Maybe.

  • +1

    Wake up Amazon!

Is it still just better to get IKEA rechargables?

    • Yes, same batteries. But this charger is great

    • +1

Some battery nerds think that they're the same or equivalent batteries. Can't confirm yet but I will be trying them. IKEA Ladda.

      • This may be the same site I've seen linked on OzBargain about the IKEA LADDA before, but (presuming you trust the author) they appear to be the same as Eneloop Pros.

    • I honestly don’t see the difference with the ikea ones. If the rated capacity is close to the marketed capacity then the ikea ones are far better value than eneloops

    • +2

I'm no battery nerd, but have eneloops and ikea batteries and both work just fine. I'll be sticking to the ikea ones as they're better value.

  • Am I the only person on ozbargain that doesn't own any eneloops.

    • +2

      No.

    • +5

I don't own any eneloops but having the strong urge to buy some lately. So I would complete the final missing piece of my life as an OzBargainer.

      • +3

Same, got none but it’s been on my mind lately… I think it’s time

        • +1

Do it. You know you want to…

          • +1

@dangerdanger: Must resist… don’t really have much use for batteries… only kids toys.. damn bubble machine needs 8…

            • @mikedenoob: Remote controls. Clocks. Xiaomi gadgets.

              • @dangerdanger: Remote control? I can’t event remember last time I change those… probably once or twice in the last 10 years so not justified. Clocks? Who still has those?
Xiaomi I don’t have the theometer/hydrometer probably once a year etc… still no frequency

      • be careful - they are like sonos speakers - once you start it's hard to stop
(especially with our 300K year incomes….)

    • +1

      Because ozbargain.

    • +7

Because nobody needs 30 batteries at one time and you save money and the environment. Eneloops will last ten years + if you charge them slowly overnight like I do on a 200ma charger and you will get hundreds of uses out of each one.

    • +2

      If you have to ask..

    • +2

      Noob!

    • Security!!

Just to let you know, most places have the 8 pack Eneloop Pro's locally for $39. Which is around $20 for 4. This deal is cheaper but not 50% off as stated.

    • +5

      https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/70303876/

These are probably fine for most applications.

      • Supposedly the same battery as eneloop pro too. I'll be grabbing a pack of aa and aaa

      • would the Ikea badboys charge up in an eneloop charger too?
        Thanks for sharing.

        • Yes, any NiMH battery charger will do the job.

    • This deal is cheaper but not 50% off as stated.

It isn't 50% off RRP, it's reduced from the normal pricing at Bing Lee.

  • +1

    Are these Japanese make?

    • I think they're the chinese cells, IIRC - the Japanese will say 80% retention after 5yrs, the chinese say 65%, on the front of the pack… Also something about the charge cycles is less with the chinese cells..

Edit: this info only for the white cells, not sure about the PRO's??? Never bought PRO's as the Ikea LADDA'S are supposedly identical & much cheaper..!

      • +1

AFAIK all the pro's are made in japan.

  • Well timed for all the xmas kids stuff.

    Cheers

    gelf1969

  • Thanks OP. Picked up 1 of each of the AA and AAA packs.

    • Picked up one of the chargers as well. Couldn't help myself!

  • $15 delivery to metro Brisbane.

    • $21 for me (as I added several items to the basket). I don't need additional Eneloops that badly!

  • Im "resisting", ill get shot if i buy another pack :)

    Thanks OP!

    • only if you ohm up to it

  • Is it ok to use a Varta charger with these? edit: I've realised the Varta charger I have is a "dumb" charger. I'll get the Eneloop pack that includes the charger then.

  • What would people recommend for a USB (5V) input charger with 4 charging slots?

  • No deal - Ikea Ladda is $8 for the same battery according to tests on the net. How does this scope 80+ upvotes?

    • +1

Smart charger + 4AAs for $29.50 is a good deal compared to the normal price.

Yes, you can probably order a smart charger from China for cheaper, wait 3 months for it to arrive, then drive however many kilometres to IKEA to buy LADDA batteries and save a few bucks there. If that makes more economic sense to you then knock yourself out.

I have a Bing Lee within 2km of my house with these in stock so it's a no brainer for me.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Finally got a proper Eneloop smart charger! I can be a proper OzBargainer now ;)

  • Hi guys I just chose the charger and a pack of each 4 pack of batteries and I am. Getting $112 in the checkout? Has this sale concluded or something?

    • +1

Discount applied at checkout, not when you add the items to your cart.

      • +1

Hi ty for heads up. Sadly there out of stock on the charger today. Shame I just saw your helpful post.

  • -2

NKON - Fujitsu Pro (Made in Japan) 4xAAA in case @ €4.55.
20 batteries in cases delivered to Melb for €27.54 (approx $46 depending who you use for exchange).
Nb. Please don't reply about brand if you don't know who FDK are.

    • I've bought from nkon before. Thought they were pretty good

  • Thanks OP was waiting months for a good deal on this (mostly the charger)

  • Went through to checkout but $15 delivery is too steep.

  • -1

$18 delivery to South Australia for eight AA Eneloops, what a crock.
They're making money out of delivery.

    • It's half that to send them from Europe.

  • Still available. Shipping $6 in SYD. Forgot to use the 2.5% cash back. Whooops.

  • +2

You can get the Laddas cheaper with Ikea's $9 postage on small delivery items.

    • Yes, but primary reason to purchase this was for the smart charger.

Had a dumb charger before. Half of the batteries I thought were fully charged were actually <80%!

  • I just tried postage to Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. Seems to be a flat rate of $9.

  • Ah Eneloops I have plenty, they are still in their original packaging from 2013 though…

  • TA op, picked up the charger with 4AA included and a 4 pack of AAA Pro for click and collect - the 4xAA are discontinued and 4xAA pro are OOS at Canberra. Curiously no AAA non pro on the site.

  • Checkout not working
