    Can the sensor open the lid if I lean my head over it? I don't want to be waving my hands for it to open

      Hi,

      Any object within the range will do. I just tested on my 70L bin, it's about 20-30cm vertically over it before the sensor activates. I wouldn't recommend your head, as on some of the large capacity bins have bigger lids, the lid can swing back pretty close to you if you get your face in this vecinity.

      Generally speaking, if you move your hand towards the bin with rubbish in it, the sensor will open and allow you to dispose of the rubbish. I've never had to wave my hands before.
