Microsoft Surface Pro Core M3 / 4GB / 128GB + Type Cover Bundle $797 @ Harvey Norman

140

The base model Surface Pro (I've got a feeling it's the 2017 surface, not the current surface pro 6) with Core M3, 4GB/128GB and includes platinum alcantara type keyboard. Comparables: Good guys $888 , JB Hifi $999.

Good if you have modest requirements - bought it this morning and it's plenty fast enough for email, document creation, spreadsheets, streaming video etc. Type cover alone is selling for $249.

I also used two amex cards with the HN offer (expires 27/12/18) to get two $50 credits, plus GST back via TRS on my next holiday (yes within 60 days)

Also the Surface Pro 6 i5/8/128 is a pretty good price at $1088 (https://www.harveynorman.com.au/microsoft-surface-pro-6-i5-8…) but add cost of type keyboard to this.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2018

          Do you need a hug?

I guess my friends 8yr old son is a professional idiot because he got one and is loving it

            @Samsungnote10:

            Do you need a hug?

LOL. You're the one taking the thread off topic…

      • now I have a ben stiller voice over in my head repeatedly saying "a model, idiot"
        youre a monkey derek

great deal, I know people who only need 4gb, and would love this

  • Get a chromebook for just email

    • Get an iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard if that's the requirement…

      • That would be cheap as well

Beats the shit out of any Surface Go deal.

The Surface Pro 6 line doesn't have an m3 refresh because there hasn't really been one. The 8th gen i5 and i7 updates are significant, and that's all that's changed in the new models.

    • They also finally scrapped the 4GB models.

Now there's no terrible entry-level model to avoid.

      • That may not prove to be the case next year, as new Y series chips just launched, tough Microsoft might consider leaping over to AMD or Qualcomm's 7nm at that price point if Intel doesn't up the stakes further.

The i3-8145U might be an option too.

A cracker of a deal at this price point. I mostly use it for internet browsing, streaming videos from Amazon Prime and my Synology home server, working on word, excel and powerpoint files and transferring photos and videos from my Gopro5, mobile and Sony rx100iv camera. Serves me well and there is no lag. The screen is a beauty, especially when watching movies. Battery life is quite decent and lasts me around 3 days of moderate use.

  • The description for this model (LJJ-00015) at JB says it has a m3-7Y30 processor, so it definitely is a 2017 model.

  • Thanks, op, this is the best price so far.
I got myself one, we'll see if I can replace my iPad + keyboard combo with this one :)

  • How does this compare to the 8gb Go?

    • The CPU is literally 50% more powerful, it's a bigger device and the type cover is included.

4GB of RAM will hurt you if you have a lot of chrome tabs (20+) open, but you've got the option of switching to Edge or Firefox and saving there, or using a decent ad blocker as the scripts related to that tend to that kind of tracking are one of the root causes for making browsers such resource hogs (as well as poorly made plugins).

  • the package includes the keyboard and cover
    the pen costs $139.00
    the mouse costs from $55.00
or go on ebay to buy perhaps cheaper

  • Thanks, picked one up today - great price.

  • Awesome deal - just grabbed one to replace my Chromebook Flip C302

I like my Chromebook but the missus hates it - so this should do the trick for basic web browsing and basic Office stuff.
