Dell has had a sale on this particular model for about a week now. Normally $2899 it is currently 15% off at $2464 (unfortunately W10Pro or 4K variants are not 15% off). There is currently a 20% off storewide sale at Dell's ebay store, but for this model we can do better than that with a couple of coupons that stack. One of these is a further 10% off, and the other is a further 5% off. $792.28 Total Savings according to the cart.

You will also get ~$105 as a Dell Advantage coupon towards a future purchase. This will arrive in your email 20 days after delivery. I've been told by Dell that ebay purchases do not include this.

There is a further 7% cashback at Cashrewards or 5% at Shopback (no cashback at all with ebay). These codes are not approved codes from either cashback, but I can confirm that Shopback did track my transaction within minutes while using these codes. I purchased two laptops over the weekend using un-approved codes and they both tracked. I also made a purchase a while ago using a Dell Advantage voucher which also tracked. That said, I can't attest to whether you'll have the same luck with Cashrewards as I haven't used them with Dell before. You can try if you want that further 2% but I went with Shopback because I know I've had success with them. If you try CR and it works, do leave a comment to let us know.

I got $79.07 tracked with Shopback but this was when the cashback was 4%. Admittedly, that is less than 4% of the $2106 I paid, but I hear that is a known Shopback problem.

A few 13" 9370 models are also discounted: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/new-xps-13-lapt…
And some 9360 models: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/laptops/13/spd/xps-13-9360-l…

The two codes should work on these too. I have a better code to use than ENGINEERS5OFF if the total is below $2000, but I haven't tested it and won't until tomorrow.

  • These codes seem to work for other XPS models s well. The 13 (9370) is $2179.39 with 4k, i7, 512GB, 16GB. I haven't seen it cheaper. Obviously no graphics card with this model.

    • They do, but not every model is discounted in their current sale, making ebay's 20% potentially better.

Correction: Some XPS 13 models are already discounted by 20% off, making it a good combo with these codes.

      I'm not a fan of 4K on a 13" screen so I didn't bother scouring those deals. I have a 9370 in FHD and I don't like it.

      • Why don't you like the 13 inch model?

        • +1

No USB A or barrel charging in 9370. You use up one of your 3 USB slots if you want to charge while using it. Dongle life is not fun.

Battery life is not amazing (52Whr). Integrated graphics. And I have two stuck pixels. The fans turn on even when I'm not doing anything and they're noticeable.

If you want anti-glare screen it's not available in 9370.

But 4K on a 13" screen is overkill. And it will push that HD620 harder as well as the battery.

Thanks man, i could give you a hug… You made my day. I have tracked the prices for a month now.. finally the patience has paid off. Together adding all discounts give me $1,500 off on the price. Got me the high end xps 15. Love ozbargain community.

    • A heartwarming Ozbargain tale! Hope you've had a great Christmas!

    • You're welcome.

I'd been tracking this thing a few months myself. Can't afford the high end one though. Almost pulled the trigger without the codes when ebay had 20% off.

  • Not that cheap if you ask me. I bought a new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga a few weeks ago and got a massive discount from just calling up and having a good chat with the salesman. Then I competed the purchase online to get Cashrewards. Maybe you can do the same with Dell.

    • What price did you get?

      • I got a ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen with a bunch of upgrades and additions. Note that the more you add, the bigger discount they will give. I also got the 3 year Premier Support for an additional $299.

          That's an ultrabook. And 14".

I don't think it's apples to apples. It's a U processor with integrated graphics. And it's $500 more. $200 more if you remove the extended warranty. (Dell charges $50 extra per year for extended hardware warranty btw).

XPS15 is a compact performance laptop. Not ultra book specs, but not gaming laptop performance. But its size is in between ultra book and gaming laptop.

Dell doesn't have 14" ultrabooks but you can get an equivalent XPS13 right now with W10 Pro and UHD for $2179 plus cashback right now using my codes. https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/new-xps-13-lapt…

Unless you specifically want 14", I think it's a better deal. I just tried speccing it with 3 year Premium Support (+$290) and it comes to $2,427.57 minus whatever cashback.

          • @lostn: Agreed. At the end of the day, it depends on what your own preferences are.

My point is that you can get good deals if you call up and negotiate.

By the way, this is a 2-in-1, not just an ultrabook. And not with a cut-down Y type CPU like in the Dell 2-in-1s.

    • +1

You're right. It's not that cheap. You can get same specced laptops from other brands cheaper. But that's just what Dell charges on their XPS range. I haven't seen it cheaper. And it's rare you get codes that stack like this. A week ago, it was also 15% off but it required FRENZY15 code which didn't stack with the codes I provided. I ended up waiting for a 20% off ebay instead. Luckily I didn't pull the trigger immediately.

  • Note to potential buyers - this will throttle. XPS15 chassis doesn't have enough thermal dissipation for hexcore + 1050Ti.

    • +1

The Dell reddit community recommends undervolting it slightly, and it doesn't throttle anymore. Ends up performing better than before undervolting despite being artifically limited.

  • So my needs are photography editing and casual gaming (CS:GO etc.) Do you think this laptop meets my needs? I was looking at the 4k screen, but that's ahead of my budget.

    • 4k screen can be had on eBay for 2.5k.

Or you can wait for a future dell sale that includes that configuration.

This is fine for playing older games or newer ones with lower graphics settings. It's not a gaming laptop though.

      • Where is the 2.5k XPS 9570 4k on ebay?

        • Looks like they withdrew it from the current sale. It's normally there.

  • Great find.

Was anyone able to get the cashback via Cashrewards?

Any ideas what "Cashback is not available via the Dell Outlet Store." means in Cashrewards site?

  • The Dell sale has been extended till Jan 3.

Shopback says upto 11%, I got ~6% for my purchase. Used both the codes you have mentioned.

    • This particular model is not on sale anymore.

But the same config with Win 10 Pro is on sale.

I might update the post to that configuration.

  • I hate to say this, but I got the 4k model at this price. lol

I stacked a few codes not mentioned.

  • Damn it missed this one
