Capi Gin & Tonic Gift Pack $9.88 at Dan Murphy's

140

Perfect for the gin lover. This pack contains 1 x 750mL bottle of Capi Tonic Water, 2 branded tumblers and a double jigger.

Was $30 before Christmas. The glasses alone are worth that. Great deal at this price, I bought a bunch to use as gifts for mates.

BYO gin :p

  • What makes these tumblers better than any better than other wide based tumblers?

    • +2

Mostly the garish branding on the sides.

$30 for two branded tumblers? You're dreamin'.

      Agree

I dont mind having a branded glass for the gin, but certainly not the tonic

They’re going straight to the trophy cabinet.

The missus picked up basically the same set from K-Mart the other day for $3 and I told her she was wasting money.

Picked up almost the same tumblers the other day from IKEA - they were like 69c each lol.

I’d be happy if she only spent $3

      • She didn't only spend $3 though.

          Get a new one

  • The tonic is worth around $3.20 at Dan Murphys for the same.

The tumblers are not even worth the difference. Let alone $30.

  • It's all about the Capi name. I saw them in the newspaper throwing big parties for D grade celebrities.

    • Whoa steady d grade, thata wayyy too much credit

    Fevertree or GTFO.

Wow the trolling is strong today.

Given a set of four cocktail glasses sells for $79.95, two quality tumblers would be about the same at Dans.

Some people like branded products, some don't. It's a personal choice. Despite that they are very nicely made glasses.

If you don't agree fine but keep your vitriolic bullsh*t to yourself. It doesn't inspire people to post deals if they're just going to get sniped by a bunch of armchair critics.

    • just because some expensive brand sells for $80, doesnt mean that if someone produces a cheap version it has to be worth the same,

like others said, you can get non branded ones for 79c at ikea, you got to put things into perspective

So because you can buy a second hand car for $1000 it's not worth calling out a Mercedes Benz sale?

A bargain is just as much about the discount, as overall purchase price. 10% off a $100 product is a better deal than 50% off something that costs $1.

        • 10% off a $100 product is a better deal than 50% off something that costs $1.

What if the same product in one store was put up to $100 and reduced down to $20 (80% savings!) and in another store was selling for $25 with 25% off ($17.50).

I understand here we are talking about cost, but it's hard not to talk about value when talking about cost.

Value is different for everyone. But there is no denying a 69c glass does the same as a $80 glass. A $2 shirt does the same as a $60 shirt. Purely economically thinking, you should go for the cheapest thing available always. But I've yet to see someone purely economically minded.
