Wondering whether the IR gives off a glow?

Want to use it in the front yard, but don't want it to be obvious to would-be-thieves.

I would also like to know - I want to hunt me some thieves.

940nm SHOULD be invisible with the naked eye for 99% of people. But that's providing they used real 940nm LEDs, some manufactures use low quality 940's that might as well be the "low glow 850nm" LEDs.

If you want to use one to catch criminals, get a dearer one that transmits the images to your phone/cloud service, that way even if the scum take the camera you still have the evidence. If you're using it to monitor wildlife and just worried about passerby's lock it to tree/post with a cable lock (presuming this model has a cable lock mount)

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately where I want to use if there is no internet available.

Is there any mobile coverage at your needed location? The cameras that I am referring to have a SIM card slot and automatically send the pics/video to you. If importing them from OS just check that they're frequency is compatible with our mobile networks.

@mapax: Nope - I`m talking about real rural area.

@saffers: Nice, wish I had somewhere like that.
Lol, if you were in Vic I would offer to keep an eye on the place from time to time and do a bit of pest control.

Is there a version with solar charging?
