US$11.69 @ LITB if 2 or more people are keen

US$26.09 for the RM Pro, so this deal isnt much of a saving…

Hi dear, seems they are not free shipping, and I can sure our shipping will be faster.I worked there before lol.

  • Does anyone know if it's Google home compatible?

    • See below, it's meant to function but currently doesn't

      • +1

@Trantor have another look, maybe your set up is incorrect

        • seemed to be a PW issue, even though the App logged in fine with it, the main site still required an older one, go figure.

    • Yep, as the Broadlink can link into the google home suite. So you can programm it up to turn on and off tv and tell google to do it

    • yep, use it with the pro, can turn he tv off, ac and even the garage with the RF (that one is a bit trickier to setup tho)

      • I would love to know how to do the garage with rf

    • Yes, it is and works very well.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/eaSzuGsC5AjU4wBs7
I've set up for my AC and the Kogan premium DC fan fory bedroom. The top row are the proper control for the 2 devices.
The bottom row are the set up as Light for Google home. I can tell google to turn AC/fan on or off.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/b3emce8ZuiykZbu38
This are the Scenes(sequence) I set up for my Kogan fan. Just need to say Activate 'Scenes name' to my Google home mini and it works.

I use it to turn on my fan every night, then tell Google to turn it off when I got woken up in the morning because it's too cold lol

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/miHBmz81xSBcdQYT8
This is my Google Home app
The AC and fan are automatically added to Home after I set it up in the ihc app. I just needed to assign them to my room

I don't know if this will work for you but it works for me with my Google home mini

    • OK, great setting it up as lights but can you do it as a power plug? When I turn the lights off it turns everything off which would be annoying for me.

      • Set them up in an imaginary room by themselves.

  • Does this RM Pro have the temperature sensor?

    • Pretty sure it won't 😔
Currently considering the Broadlink A1. If be interested in a special on this!

  • Is Broadlink RM Pro+ works with the fan remote? or Garage remote?

    • Fan yes. Garage no. Garage remotes typically have rolling codes which the Pro+ can't replicate.

    • -1

I can work, ive got it to work, had to trick it to do it tho

      • +2

You got it to work with what?

        • lol I didnt even read what I wrote 🤣

Garage.. I got it to work with my garage

          • @m0nkeycheese: Lol how do you managed to do that or your garage door don't have correct Rf technology? You know if you can open it, next door neighbour can open it too? I be worried.

The on sale price in the past is around AUD$10-$14.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/broadlink-rm-mini

Could you please have a better price?

I have an RM Mini 3 and love it. Connected my TV to it and will connect aircon shortly.

Set up your remotes in the IHC app, create some Scenes (such as 'Turn TV up') and then those scenes will become available in Google Home app. If you've set up scenes and it's not working, trying saying 'activate' first, such as 'activate turn TV up' (this is just one of the quirks of the Broadlink system).

To streamline the process, create some routines in the Google home app. For example, the routine could be: When I say 'TV up', activate turn TV up. This will save you having to say the whole trigger command.

Currently I say 'ok Google, get ready' and the RM Mini switches on the TV, and the Google home Mini switches on and slightly dims the two loungeroom lamps.

So people don't listen to the wrong information. Broadlink is still compatible with Google Home and Alexa. I have just tested my Broadlink IR and Broadlink Plug with Google Home and still functioning correctly

Instructions on how to set up the Broadlink IR to google Home
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr0i1UHK0NA

  • Can I use this with Logitech Harmony?

The plan is to have Google Home Mini sends an instruction to Logitech Harmony > over wifi > Broadband RM Mini 3 > over IR > to switch on a projector

    • Best to use google home to send the command directly to the RM mini

    • This does the same job as harmony

      • I have harmony but I need to switch on a projector that is located on the next room, and the Harmony IR cable too short (plus it's a hassle to run through the cable over wall, even if I can extend the IR cable), thus the reason why I'm after a way to extend it signal over wifi with another device

        • …but you say you are planning to use a google home as well. So you can just use that - home talks direct to the broadlink. You say 'hey google, turn projector on' and google sends the command via wifi to the broadlink that then sends the command to the projector via IR. Done.

Ah make sense, I haven't completed the checkout process as yet, as waiting for the OP to send the way to get the additional 10% discount :)

    • OP, your response is required here…

  • Does anyone else have the issue of the rm mini not working like 1/10 times? I can see with my phone camera and a dark room that it is emitting light but it doesn't turn the decide on. I have 3 minis and it happens with all of them .

    • I may (not confirmed) have had that problem when using the official app but I have not had any issue through HomeAssistant.

      • I'm using it through home assistant, I should have mentioned that. I've made it so it fires each command 5 times, but that doesn't work for one of my AC units as it only has a single command for on and off.

    • May not be related, but I have that problem with the RM Pro+ and my air conditioner. After locating the angle with the highest IR output with my phone camera, I adjusted the position so it points directly at the air con. So far so good. I'm running it via HA too.

  • Glad to see this works with Apple HomeKit through homebridge :-)

  • Anyone else get this?

    Dear xxxxxx,
Thanks for purchasing from us. However, we regret to inform you that when we were preparing to ship the order to you, we found that the last few pieces in stock are damaged and not suitable for sale. After contacting our supplier urgently, they informed us that the item is unexpectedly discontinued and it will not be available again in the near future. Therefore, we have to cancel this order. Please let us know if this will be ok with you.
We will issue a refund to your PayPal account once we get your reply. We apologize again for any inconvenience caused to you. >

Not like you have a choice in a refund, and either they screwed up the price or somethings up, not seen any where else say it is being discontinued.

Edit* If they have no stock, why is it still up on their website and saying "In stock"??

    • +1

No email like that for me…yet. Sounds ominous though if the product is discontinued, may need to pay a bit more to get it guaranteed before all the stock goes. Im buying one as the sonoff rf bridge doesnt pick up all rf signals even with Tasmota and the custom firmware.

      Hi Mate,
May I know your order number please?

      • the order number is GC2270.

        • OP says they have new stock in and my order will be shipped, thanks OP

  • I've used other Broadlink products and they did not accept Special Characters in WiFi passwords. Anyone know if this newer version has the same limitation?

    • Not sure - but if you're having trouble connecting to wifi via setup on your mobile phone, disable mobile data. I also had an issue where it just would not connect to my Huawei e5186 4G modem router - had to connect via my bridged TPLink Archer D9.

  • I've been using the mini, works pretty well, so got an RM Pro to do fans etc also.

Having all sorts of trouble getting it to stay connected to the network, resulting in commands not being sent.

Will try this home assistant thing.

  • Got this working with Google Home Mini and my Mitsubishi split systems. Followed the advice previously posted in this thread and set up some preset temperatures as fake lamps. But then I realised it's natively detected as an Aircon in Google Home BUT you need to use voice commands to activate it. So you can say something like "Hey Google, turn on the air conditioner in the Master Bedroom to 22 degrees celsius". The issue with use pseudo lamps for presets is that Google Home groups all the 'lamps' together so you can toggle them all on or all off which doesn't really work when one lamp is a Heater preset, another an Aircon preset and another a Dehumidifier preset. Adds an extra click/tap via the app to display the individual presets. But at least you can access these without voice commands if that's your preference.
Note that even after a factory reset to the RM Mini 3 and re-pairing via the IHC app, they still continue to work in parallel with Domoticz which is nice. So I can still control them via Domoticz or via Google Home. I've noticed that I had significant issues trying to learn the remotes from my Sony DAB mini hifi, LED RGB strip light and Homedics air purifier. Not sure if it's related to the latest firmware which I was forced to upgrade to, the IHC app or something else. Previously I had no issues learning remotes via my manual Domoticz python setup. Fortunately the main devices (i.e. Aircon) works by selecting the brand of the aircon during setup. My Sony TVs also work with the RM Mini 3.

  • How can I have refund for 10% additional discount? I paid for it already.

    • This is a reply from OP:
"you cant, that 10% is for next purchase"

Therefore, that 10% off is for next purchase. It's a false advertising.
I'll give this one a down vote.

      • Hi Dear,
Sorry for late reply, I've already updated in the post that coupon and discount can't be used simultaneously.
I'm sorry if there is any misunderstanding.

        • And now, my order is delayed

          • @LeVuHoang: I'll check for you mate.

  • Just got this setup. Bought it from another sale. Working perfectly with Google Home. It would be nice if it supported all my aircon features (like long through, econo cool, powerful and wind angle. But it is pretty nice to be driving home and say "OK google, cool the house down" to activate my routine that will trigger four split systems 😁

There were some connection challenges in setup. I had to give a new name to my 5ghz network initially and also turn off my mobile data. The second mini also had to be reset a few times. Also, don't use the EU app. Just the IHC.

    • What version did you get? I received the Chinese version of the mini (all Chinese text on the base label, and the barcode is for the Mac address, not the serial), and I can't get it to work with Google, Alexa, or IFTTT. My old one (English text on the bottom, and a sn instead of Mac for the barcode) works fine.

Can set it up in IHC, but it is completely invisible to Alexa and Google.

      • Did you link the app to Google Home or Alexa? Go to Me tab in ihc and then voice services

        • Yep. I already have one which works fine. Just to be sure I deleted the app, created a new account entirely, and then added everything again. Same problem: English version works fine, Chinese version is undetected.

Did yours come in a (mostly) plain white box with the specs written in Chinese on one side?

          • @Morien: Yeah. Plain box. Chinese writing. Worked fine. Can you update firmware on it?

            • @RevBargain: Seems it is on the latest revision. v55. Would you mind checking this out in your IHC app? Just choose the device, three dots, property.

              Thanks, mate.

              • @Morien: Yep, same version. I've only used it with Aircon. Perhaps it doesn't like one of the device names and this is causing a sync issue for them all? Dunno

                • @RevBargain: Far out!

Man, you've been very helpful, Wish I could just get it to work. All I want the thing to work with is an aircon!

                  I've tried:
                  - current ihc app on iOS
                  - current ihc for eu app on iOS
                  - broadlink smart home skill for Alexa (using En-Us, En-GB, or En-AU)
                  - broadlink remote control skill for Alexa (only detects tvs, and trying to set up the aircon as a tv doesn't work)
                  - current e-control app on iOS
                  - older ihc app on Android
                  - current ihc app on Android
                  - broadlink smart home for Google Home
                  - broadlink smart home for eu for Google Home

Delete devices, set up new devices, new accounts.

I just want to turn on the aircon while half asleep….

  • Seems that the IHC app in play store has gone missing. You can still get the apk, but there's something funny going on

  • Well just received order and they sent me (Broadlink RM Pro) the older version!! Not really happy at all I bought it because it was the latest version (Broadlink RM Pro+), and if they don't replace it/refund, i'll definitively be talking with paypal

    • +1

Let us know how you go, I am still waiting for mine and will report back if it's the wrong version

      • they ask for more details on what the issue was o.o saying they sent the wrong things wasn't enough I guess, and pictures of the issue, so i took pictures of the box showing the model etc., going by a search, the Pro+ box looks different as does the unit (bottom grooves for one)

I replied within a short time of their post, but no reply yet to my reply

      • +1

They refunded me US$6, couldn't be bothered fighting over it, won't deal with them again, can't be trusted

  • Hey OP,
Received mine yesterday, and it isn't pairing with Google or Alexa. It is on firmware v55 (latest). My older unit is on firmware v20029 (also latest, guessing different revisions) continues to work flawlessly. :(

  • +1

Looks like I have also only received the Pro version, not the pro+ that was advertised. Seems to not be an isolated incident (see Trantor's post above), will contact the seller but negging this deal for now as product not as advertised.

Edit: seems I cant neg this deal as I revoked my + vote

    • +1

i'd neg if I could but could only revoke my vote
