  • Bunnings is selling twin pack of "ARLEC" s outlet switched powerboard at $13.80, that's less than $7 for one.

  • Lot cheaper at bunnings…
    ARLEC (Pack of 2)
    4 Outlet Switched Powerboard
    I/N4420168 - $13.80

    Damn your quick wonderland
Took me a while to find the link… lol

  • The Bunnings ones are only 4 way, and don't mention surge protection.

    • The equivalent Arlec ones from Bunnings might be $39.90 from here. Didn't realise they have ones with built in USB too!

Of course there's a quite a range of quality when it comes to surge protection that's why I like the Crest ones (Choice tested/recommended) - but they don't have individual switches.

  • Hi, thanks for posting our deal up davo_4. A few things about the Bunnings ones you mentioned wonderland & sabby - Their offer is 4 port not 6, and is not a surge protector as well, is that right? Just asking because you say its much cheaper but its not really the same thing is it? :P Their twin pack is also a good price for sure, but different.

Thanks for the interest and feedback all!

its a tough gig in here, bert! :)

    • i can confirm it's surge protected on bunnings one, and $13.80 for a twin pack is a regular price, together with generous return/refund policy, bunnings offer must be a better deal.

      • Hi wonderland, its a good price you've found. Hard to be a "better deal" if its different but that's where we'll agree to disagree - appreciate your input of course! Bunnings will take anything back thats for sure - do you notice most of it goes back on the shelf without repacking or checking? I recently bought some motion lights and had to return to the store as one of the seal bits was missing, there were a lot of opened items on display, this is one thing I don't like at Bunnings. We don't resell returned/faulty/used items ever.

eSOLD also has a very strict customer satisfaction policy though, we will bend over backwards and do all we can to ensure our customers are satisfied if they can be ;) Anyway… thanks for your feedback and interest, I do love a good chat about a bargain same as you guys!

as a pensioner who suffered from high cost of living, i have tried hard to find good bargain. i cannot agree $15 for a 6 way switched powerboard is a good bargain (not take into account of $9 postage). i can easily found the exact product at computer markets or local $2 shop at a cheaper price. please lower your price if you want to post as a good bargain, at this advertsied price you have a very profitable margin.

bunnings offer must be a better deal.

The Bunnings one also don't have the EXTRA WIDE sockets…

i don't think these products can be compared…

  • Pretty expensive postage. Otherwise a good price if you can pick up

    • i agree… if it was free postage, i'd get one…

I bought these Sansai 6 powerboard for about $13.50 or $14.50 at local $2 shops…

can had these on ebay for $9.99 pickup or $20 delivered
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160571…

so it's really not a deal!

    Hi all,

Before I take my leave for the day from here (lots of things to do!) I did a little checking on the eBay link. I sent a msg to the seller asking for PICKUP ONLY and was told its only send out at this moment - I then spoke directly to Sansai regarding the pricing and this seller. SINCE THEN THE LISTING HAS BEEN PULLED - it was just a fishing exercise to reel people in on the cheap price and make up the loss on postage. There was also some question regarding the product itself as the description says 'Laser' which is another brand and the spec matches the Laser equivalent product not the Sansai one.

Also, our $9 postage is only for WA/NT. Vic is $6.95 and other states $7.95 - its a very competitive price as always from eSOLD (If you check Warcom for instance its $24.95) - but was neither targeted specifically for the OZB "ultra bargain" market nor priced as a leader/loss leader to do so. I thank davo_4 for posting, we weren't actively pushing this to you guys - I am always on the hunt for a bargain though as well and so lurking here always :)

Thanks as always OZB's see you again soon - Handelbert!

good feedback/customer service from a rep…. BIG plus vote to above comments. Not negging deal, but not entirely sure its a true 'bargain' however.

  • Its a bargain if you are after a wide socket and individual switches. I got too used to individual switches powerboard overseas.

For those actually banging on about the bunnings/arlec twin pack, has anyone bought one? You can't! Went in tonight and after spending 30 mins with 4 enthusiastic lads trying to find said powerboard, they were all sent back last week as they failed a compliance test..

  • I'm curious about this powerboard on their site: http://www.esold.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id…
It's claimed to be the same as this Crest one.

This Jackson brand one from a competitor though looks the same but has different specs!?

All out of the same factory but maybe with difference surge protection specs/internals?

    • +1

Hi Daydream… why am I up @ 3am!!! That Jackson board sure does look the same, its pretty likely its a "same factory" job too, but who knows if its the same inside. Ours is 100% the same spec and "guts" as the Crest anyway, if I had to bet I'd say its likely the Jackson one is the same too.

Any small importer can source this board blank and put any name they want on it - all the names you're seeing are added for the Australian market. This board goes by at least 8 brands I know of, and they are all from the same factory. Of course as you suggest, there's no guarantee of what's inside, that's when it comes down to the information given and your trust of the seller I suppose.

EDIT: For clarity purposes we're not talking about the board in the topic :P

      G'night /yawn.

      • Thanks for the prompt response handlebert! Glad you guys went for the better spec'd one rather than what they have shown for the Jackson. Cheers.

  • FYI, the Bunning's twin powerboard mentioned aboive have been recalled.
