There are a few 'unlimited' mobile deals around if you agree to receive a monthly bill (post-paid), but I think this is the first offer on pre-paid, and the first for as low as $40.

For a $40 recharge that lasts 30 days, you get:
- unlimited calls to fixed lines in Australia
- unlimited calls to mobile phones in Australia (except Pivotel satellite phones)
- unlimited text and picture messages within Australia (except to Pivotel)
- unlimited access to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and eBay
- 3GB of data

Great offer for people who can't/don't want to sign up to a post-paid contract, and potentially a good replacement for a home phone.

Boost runs on the Optus mobile network.

Offer is said to expire 31 July 2011, but I suspect this is just a line in the sand, as mobile rate offers are often extended numerous times beyond their 'expiry'.

It's pretty self-explanatory, but the small print is here:

    wow.

  • Sounds good, whats the catch? I'd say after it expires later this year the plan will revert to something not worth while.

      whats the catch?

*Boost runs on the Optus mobile network.

Coming from Vodafail, that is most definitely NOT a negative thing.

Seems like a good deal, however for those who also make international calls, PennyTel released these plans a few hours ago http://oz.pennytel.com.au/penny-sim/voice-plans (on Vodafone network).

      • Optus ain't much better.

  • Damn i literally swapped from boost to Virgin last week for the ring in rewards..

  • Is it just me or is that one of the stupidest site designs ever?
Where the hell do you get them from? NO information at all about it.
Then I go to get a "$2 sim" and the only link is to
    http://www.boost.com.au/register/free-sim
    which doesn't even work.

That it is. I think you might have to head in store. Even their photos are hangcell packs.

Also includes up to 3GB web (includes uploads & downloads) within Australia. Excludes content.

    Excludes Content. Yay!

    • +3

So what does it include? 3Gb worth of ping?

      • I think the 3GB allowance is fine for normal data use (web browsing, email etc).

I suspect 'excludes content' just means that you can't fund the purchase of ringtones, wallpapers, apps or other cost-bearing premium content solely from your 3GB allowance.

  • would standard calls include 1300 numbers?

Not quite sure how it is defined.

I'm with TPG at the moment but this deal looks better? I wonder what the reception is like

    • reception is fine, runs on the optus network

  • It states on there website that they have blackberry network support. Does anyone have a blackberry and are with boost? are they any good? coz Im really interested in moving.

PS. I know they use optus network.
