1040

Hi OzBargain! We here at Scorptec are ringing in the New Year with some great deals, including some solid discounts on Razer gear + the return of our super popular Seagate SSD deal.

All the deals are outlined in the table below!

All these deals are limited to certain quantities, but we have at minimum 10 units of everything, and most are a lot more than that!

Note 1: To receive the promo price, you must follow the link in the table above! Browsing to the product via our search or categories will only come up with the regular, non-sale price.
Note 2: Deals are limited to one unit per customer, however you can purchase multiple different deals. If you want to purchase more than one of the deals, you will need to place two separate orders due to backend shenanigans with our promo system.

Click & Collect is available, plus shipping Australia wide.

That's not the elite chroma edition, this is the same one at Centrecom for $279.

      • As @doweyy stated it's the model Centrecom currently have at $279.

        • Looking at the difference is it green backlit compared to full rbg backlit?

    • Hahahaha

See previous post for Seagate SSD, for those with questions.

Seems to be $129+ everywhere else, so nicely done! Good upgrade for an ageing laptop

Don't forget 0.7% cashback on Cashrewards and Shopback!

  • +1

that's a damn good price for the Razer BlackWidow Elite Chroma

  • Hi Rep,

I recently bought a new laptop, and don't know much about computers, but would like to cram some more ram in. How do I tell if a product is compatible?

    • +6

Your best bet is always going to be contact the manufacturer to be 100% sure.

Kingston Memory Search is a good resource also, as well as the finder on Ram City.

Alternatively - give us a bell on 1300 726 770 and someone here can see if they can rustle something up for you.

Managed to get the SSD, great timing!

RE: Pickup, would I be able to pick up Saturday if ordered today? unfortunately work is on the other side of town so won't be able to make it during weekdays.

    • PM me your order number and I'll put a note on there that you'll be collecting Saturday :)

      • I just ordered as well for a saturday pick up. Awaiting the Order confirmation/invoice to come through.

Any deals you can come up with for 3.5" internal drives around 6TB and up?

    • Nothing right now sorry.

Good review on the BarraCuda SSDs if anyone is interested. For the price I’d say worth it - https://www.storagereview.com/seagate_barracuda_ssd_review

  • OP - is it worth replacing my 500GB HDD with SSD on my 8 yr old laptop?

    • +11

      100% yes.

It most likely is the only thing slowing you down at this point in your laptop's life cycle.

      • Straight up. My old laptop had a 500gb hd, and 4gb Ram (2x2gb) popped in 2x4gb ram and 500gb ssd and it is functioning better than it did when it was new.

        • Got a link to the ram?

    • +3

Yeah absolutely. If you want to avoid replacing the laptop, SSD is next best thing.

      • Thanks guys. Here is my laptop - do you know which SSD fits into it?

HP ENVY dv6-7215TX 15.6 inch Commercial NotebookIntel i7-3630QM Processor @ 2.40GHz8GB DDR3 RAM Intel Smart Response Technology with 1 TB SATA and a 32GB SLC mSATA Hard drive

        • +2

Any standard SSD should work. I’d get the 500GB Seagate. $79 well spent.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I think the only thing to watch out for is whether the notebook takes 7.5mm or 9mm 2.5" drives. I know that Crucial includes a 9mm spacer in the box just in case though.

Let's see some deals for home security. It's the all the rage at the moment.

  • Nothing for the white razer blackwidow keyboards? Using on a Mac, and i'm an idiot who likes things to match.

    • +1

Nah sorry, just the black in this deal.

  • +1

Damn! Thanks! got myself the keyboard. Been waiting for 3 months already.

  • Aww damn, was hoping for a gaming pc on special

  • +1

Harvey Norman refused to pricematch, said it's below market value, lol

    • +2

you could add $100 on top and they'd still say that. always refuse to shop at harvey and will always price match elsewhere if they have a good deal there.

    No RTX 2070 deals :(

  • Any good wireless headset for Xbox One X? Couldn't find.

    • The SteelSeries Siberia 840 does support Xbox One, but if out of your price range the SteelSeries Arctis 3 BT is a bit cheaper.

      • Does it support wireless? Looked up its website says have to connect wired.

        • There's two versions. A wired one for $90ish abnd the bluetooth version for $190.

  • Any chance for any deals on RAM?

    • Just what's in the table above for now sorry!

  • Too bad there is no SA store for C&C. Posted seems a bit much.

    • +1

One day we'll have a store there I'm sure.

      • been talked about on the forums before would love this as theres no stores in adelaide that support custom watercooling needs :'(

  • Great deals! I missed grabbing the Barracuda SSDs when they were on sale last time, is it just the 500gb and 2TB drives on sale- any chance of a price drop on the 1TB drive like last time around?

    • Just these two for this deal sorry.

  • Any chance we can get a yellow/orange switch for the BlackWidow?

    • The Yellow was actually part of our Boxing Day Sale - Green needs a time to shine this sale sorry.

      • Eagerly awaiting a deal on the orange switch version, missed out twice so far! :(

        • I'm in the same boat, I seen the yellows on the boxing day sale but was unfamiliar with them and by the time I did some research the sale was over.

Maybe someone could provide some practical feedback about them though?

Currently using the Orange, they are good but take some getting used to nad they are still quite noisy, could not imagine going to Greens (even louder).

Only other drawback I see to these is no Macros, would love to see a version with just a few macros like the Caroma's.

Maybe someone could advise an alternate keyboard that's on par since the $299 RRP on these is a joke and I really wanna update to RGB.

Unless @Cair22 and Scorpion Tech decide to do another sale :)

  • What about gaming mouse?

    • Yeah looking for a wireless Logitech mouse (G403, G603 or G703)

      • Got a G603 on Newegg when for about $60 delivered when everywhere was asking $80+

  • Hi mate, any deals for 1TB SSD please?

  • 500gb SSD Deal sold out :(
Any chance it will come back?

    • +1

Just saved me some money on buying another SSD…

  • Waiting for the Corsair 1000D case to drop a little bit, any deals you can rustle up on that?

  • -7

Following instruction as stated by OP. I made 2 seperate orders. 1 order was charge $79 and the 2nd order was charged full price for the 500G SSD.

    • +7

The OP clearly states it's one item per customer, you might have wanted to read fully before ordering.

You can order one of each item in total at the sale price, not one item per order at the discount price.

      Revoke that neg.

      • +5

Might have mis-understood the OP. Neg revoked. Sorry.

  • Any deal on Samsung 860 evo 1tb m.2? :D

  • Hi Rep, is there any chance you could do a better deal on the QNAP TVS-882BRT3 8 Bay NAS, Core i7, 32GB?

  • Hrmm, hdd's just recently gone up in price. Was looking at the Ironhawk 4tb and that's gone up $10~ at a few stores.

  • -3

The comments here read like they were written by a bunch of Beggers. I know if you don't ask you don't receive, but c'mon it's rude!

  • Anymore SSD coming OP?

    • Nope, just the Seagate 2TB still available.

  • If only your Macquarie Park store was still open…

    • Auburn isn't too far away! Plus we will be reopening our Macquarie Park store later this year bigger and better than ever.

Here are my top 7 tips for getting the most from your SSD's.

Enable TRIM. TRIM is essential for keeping SSDs in tip-top shape.
    Don't Wipe the Drive.
    Update Your Firmware.
Move Your Cache Folder to a RAM Disk.
    Don't Fill to Full Capacity.
    Don't Defrag.
    Don't Store Large Files.

  • Hi OP it is possible to include the Razer Blackwidow Elite Orange and Yellow in the sale too?
