Box are ok quality for the price. We have 5 of these from previous sale. They feel a bit more flimsy than the other hard plastic ones from kmart, target, big w etc. Having said that, I have one sitting outside with my tools in for the past year and the plastic hasn't gone brittle yet, still feels new.

    • When you say outside, has it been rained upon with the sun on it constantly?

      • Yes, outside as in on our balcony. We are on top floor so exposed to full summer heat and the thunderstorms we've had in Sydney over the past few months.

i have one that has disintegrated outside. not uv stable.

You get what you pay for with such containers.

Yeah I bought five from the last time this was posted and thought I’d check if they are available again because I wanted more. Maybe not as rigid but the quality feels good as my other clear plastic ones (various brands) have gone brittle and the handles have snapped off etc. I guess for $5.98 (or $5.50) it’s not bad.

What is the usual price please?

    • Hmm good point. I looked for the last deal (same price) noted it was expired and tried the link I thought ‘ooh maybe it’s on sale again’ but on second thought, appears this may be normal price. If that’s the case, then I’ll report this deal and close it down. Albeit still a decent price!

Wouldn't be concerned. Seems popular. 27+ upvotes and growing. :) thanks. Buying some. Appreciate you posting this.

      • I'm pretty sure it's what we normally sell them for, but considering it's got ~74 upvotes it looks like lots of people don't know about it.

Bought one a few days ago. They have this funny smell to them.

Bunnings have clear ones for the same price of comparable quality.

  • What is the usual price?

    • last sale was $5 each.

You're better off paying the 98 cents for the added almond scent.

  • I miss the Starmaid Evergreen boxes. ☹

    • Yeah it sucks that they went out of business as their containers are such high quality and Australian made. I have over a hundred Starmaid containers from the small ones to their largest ones and all are still like new. The other ones I've purchased which are all Chinese made since they went out of business are mostly all landfill now.

The only exception are the ones sold by Masters by the UK made Really Useful Box Company as they were really good quality but these are really expensive now and hard to find. Officeworks sells them and I saw a bundle at Bunnings but they wanted some ridiculous price for the pack which was half the price at Masters when it was around.

The bunnings ones are far superior

https://www.bunnings.com.au/all-set-50l-plastic-storage-tub-… this isnt bad if you prefer clear, and wheels

  • when i buy them online several always arrive broken and we have to exchange them in store. they dont package them in anything.

last night I went to bunnings to buy the ones they had and they broke/ cracked immediately when placing into my car. Refunded them and went to Officeworks and saw these from the OP, I was still pretty offended by the Bunnings boxes and thought nah these are kinda the same material.

I ended us with the heavy duty type https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-…. A little more pricey but at least I know they won't break after minimal force.

I then went home and slept like baby and my dog licked my face.

    • I like the happy ending :).

They are average quality for the price. Beware that if you overload them the handles can snap off quite easily. I bought a few to use as cheap moving crates which served their purpose well.

  • dont include lid @ that price last time i bought mine last year

    • Yes they do.

  • I have these, and I'm tired of them boasting about the secure clip. They just won't shut up about it.

    • In my experience, the clips are always a huge negative as they're the first thing to break off. I have boxes without clips decades old that are still going, the ones with clips seem to last only if you never touch them.

  • Normal price, not a deal unfortunately :(

  • Bunnings has just dropped the price on the 50L black one with wheels to $5.93 (presumably to match this one):
